@HawaiiBamaBride:  I love the idea of sharing in a fun way.  We live near my family but far from DH’s… part of me wants to try to wait until we see them, but it may make more sense to mail something.   Or … do something interesting.

A friend got mugs that say “grandma” and “grandpa” in her family’s native language (not English) and sent them to her parents to announce… kinda fun.

@Almost Mrs.P:

I’ve found some pretty fun ways to share the news through Etsy and Pinterest.  I have a secret board on Pinterest just for this stuff.  ๐Ÿ™‚

A countdown:  I think this one is cute, but what would the grandparents do with it afterwards?  Plus, it may only work if they don’t already have grandbabies.

This one is by Etsy’s seller, ThePartyPosse.  They have different ones for different weeks as well as Bun in the Oven and the fortune cookie.  Some they even sell in a 8-10 in a pack.

This one is my all time favorite right now.  I mean the words would definitely have to be changed.  But it’s a really cute idea.

These are due date cookies. Ha.  Really cute way to surprise your family that’s close by!

I have the Grandma/Grandpa coffee mugs pinned too.  I’m still looking for ideas, but I guess I have awhile before I really have to decide.

I’ve been sort of obsessed with the youtube videos where the couple tells their family! We are a week or so away from closing on our home, so I thought about the possibilty of when we are pregnant, taking them into the nursery room saying we had painted it, and have baby clothes hanging up on a clothesline in the room with a ‘You’Re Grandparents’ sign or something.

I am more stuck on announcing to friends and family that arent local. I was thinking about mailing them something, but then they would get it at different times….I dunno.

When will you TTC?: 2014

What are you doing to get ready to TTC?: The last time I posted, it was in “Waiting Part 2.”  Now we’re in “Waiting Part 7!”  Wow, how time flies!  Anyway, I digress.  How am I preparing now?  I just started taking prenatals yesterday!!  ๐Ÿ™‚  After working out for two hours every day for the year and a half up to my wedding, I’m pretty burnt out.  The last time I worked out was nearly 3 weeks ago.  I’m going to try and ease back into things, maybe work out for an hour 3x a week.  Our apartment is coming along nicely, but I still have quite a bit of stuff that needs to be gone through/thrown out/donated.  I’ve been researching pregnancy, birth, and nutrition.  I finally found a birth center that shares my philosophy (that birth is a natural, physiological process and best for the mother and baby with minimal/no interventions).  I’ve also been getting our finances in order, did the books for the last two years, and determined that we have a positive net worth!  Yay!  I stopped taking birth control pills in late September so my body could return to normalcy.  However, I still have yet to get my period and I’m 43 days into my cycle and counting.  Ugh.  Sooo glad that we’re only in the preparation stages because otherwise I would be so stressed out TTC right now.  Hopefully by the time my body is normal again and the prenatals have been in my system for a while, my husband will be ready to try.  We definitely think 2014 will be our year!  Fingers crossed!

Do you chart? Link to the chart: Currently it’s a Word document on my computer, LOL!  If I do end up joining FF, I’ll use the same username as here so people can find me.

All time favourite movie?: I have so many!  #1 is probably The Lord of the Rings.  But I also love Taken, Equilibrium, 300, and Iron Man.

So I was having coffee with a friend earlier this week. We were having some girl chat before her 9 month old baby boy woke up from a nap. She is my only close friend who has a baby, snce I am pretty young and therefore the first of my younger friend group to get married, let alone TTC. So we were talking about parenthood, and I asked when she was planning on trying for baby #2, which was something they had said they were unsure about a while ago when DH and I went on a double date with them. Well… her answer was “We’re already pregnant!” umm.. sad day for me kind of. I mean, it’s not like I can actually expect people to wait to TTC until we are (haha how silly/dumb) but I am super jealous! So I was askign when she was due, and it’s the end of June. So THEN she said how fun, because DH and I will start trying right around when their baby #2 is born! And suddenly… TTC seems so SOON!! I’m so excited for her, and to get to see how pregnancy actually pans out, since I have never had a friend who was pregnant. So not only do I get to see what all the stages of it are like… but when baby pops out, we will be trying for our OWN little beeb! I am so stinking excited.

I was also thinking… judging off the timelines people have posted, this will likely be most of our last “holiday season” without a baby in our belly/arms! Sheesh I am just way too excited for my own good haha

@future_mrs_s:  Sorry you were feeling a bit down – you’ll be there soon! I didn’t even think about how this may be our last holiday season without a lil one running around! I think I will enjoy a few extra drinks in celebration. ๐Ÿ˜€

When will you TTC?: Probably early 2015

What are you doing to get ready to TTC?: I have stopped taking hormonal bc. I have had some friend who have had serious side effect from taking the pill and I have been on the pill myself for many years already (7 in total) so I decided I wanted to be more natural anyways. I think this will also give my body a chance to get back to it’s “normal”. I’ve been off the pill for 5 months or so and my body is still outta whack.

Do you chart? Link to the chart: I do! I don’t know how to link to it though. I am just on my first month so it’s not to interesting. My husband and I are thinking of using charting as part of TTA and then when it comes time to TTC I will know my cycle really well by then.

All time favourite movie?: I don’t really have one. I like watching movies though!

@future_mrs_s:  I’m glad you got some perspective on the baby timetable and are getting excited ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve had the same thought about the holidays – this is likely the last holiday season for a long time that I won’t be pregnant or nursing, so I’m going to focus on enjoying wine/hard cider/eggnog/etc and know that after New Years, we’ll be so close! (maybe even pulling the goalie around New Years?!)

I was just looking at photos of my brother and his family from Halloween, and I’m wondering if my SIL is pregnant again (it looked like she might have a hint of a bump) – I would be so excited!  She had a MC in August, and I know they were going to start trying again in September (for their 3rd).  I’m hoping she got knocked up right away and is just waiting until Thanksgiving to tell us in person Smile

When will you TTC?: I actually need to be moved from March 2014 to April. Not a big move, but that means one more month…

What are you doing to get ready to TTC?: Losing weight, exercising more, prenatals and less imbiding the giggly beverages.

Do you chart? Link to the chart: Not just yet…

All time favourite movie?: I don’t have a set favorite but Easy A cracks me up every time.

@future_mrs_s:   I never thought about this bwing the last holiday celebration child free. We were planning on starting in Nov but we are heading to Disney for eight days… So we moved it to Dec, but I just found out my in-laws are cruising for the Holidays. And I really want to enjoy my time with them, worry free. So now we are thinking Jan.
