Hello everyone! I am new to the TCC board! Fiance and I finally discussed when we will have our 2nd child, and decided to start trying right after the wedding so I can officially say I am “waiting to TTC” now!
When will you TTC?: getting married sept 2014, and will start trying the month after so Oct 2014! (we already have one child together who will be 5 when we get married, so we don’t want to wait too much longer!)
What are you doing to get ready to TTC?: Well, I’m trying to lose weight for the wedding but also to get in shape before we try for number 2. I’m also trying to eat healthier and take better care of my body.
Do you chart? Link to the chart: I have Mirena in right now, but it comes out in March, so I will begin charting then to try to figure out my cycle before we start trying (my cycle has always been very irregular!)
All time favorite movie?: Lord of the Rings!!!

Hi ladies, just wanted to share something with all of you who will someday soon(ish) be mommies. Exercising during pregnancy at least 3x a week for 20min has been linked to faster brain development! So, most of our goals pre-conception seem to be to start exercising or to continue exercising, it might be beneficial to keep that going during pregnancy! http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/11/20/mothers-exercise-may-boost-babys-brain/?_r=0

@Mrs.LemonDrop: awww, so cute from DH!!!

@FutureMRS3lastnames: That’s good to know! I feel like I’ve also seen research on labor being shorter/easier when mom is in good shape going into/throughout pregnancy. Definitely motivation to keep working out!!

When will you TTC?: June (??) 2014. True date TBD, waiting until we purchase a house (hopefully by March when lease is up), and would like to get somewhat settled before trying.
What are you doing to get ready to TTC?: Went off of NuvaRing and reading weddingbee TTC/Pregnancy boards of course. 🙂
Do you chart? Link to the chart: Not yet, just downloaded the app but need to get a basal thermometer.
All time favourite movie?: Oh man this is a toughy. I have probably three that I absolutely couldn’t live without and have watched more times than I can count. Dirty Dancing, Christmas Vacation, and Die Hard With a Vengeance. I’m super strange I know. Haha 🙂

@FutureMRS3lastnames: Thanks for sharing! I’ve heard of lots of other benefits of exercise/fitness during pregnancy, so I’ll just add that to the list 🙂 Glad I’ve been working to get in better shape so I can continue with my fitness routine throughout pregnancy!

@emsy3110: Hi! Sorry I’ve been MIA from this site for a week and just saw your post. As others have said, everyone reacts differently when coming off BC. I did some research on this and it seems like however you were before being on BC is what you’ll revert back to. So if you used to be irregular, chances are you’ll go back to being irregular. So far that has been true for me.
I’ve gone off BC once before as well. I unfortunately did notice a huge increase in breakouts the first time I quit BC. Of course, this also could have been influenced by my lifestyle at the time (I was overweight, starving, unemployed, and more stressed than I have ever been in my life). This second time I’m going off BC, I’m in a more stable place (healthy weight, steady employment, eating healthy, etc). So I don’t anticipate seeing the same type of skin reaction this time around. Fingers crossed!
The biggest change I’ve noticed so far is that I seem to be retaining water. I’m kind of annoyed because this is usually the other way around (you retain water when you’re on BC).

@Christy42213: Ack, I am nervous about how my body is going to react, too… going off in a week. I will update!

I’m 25, Fiance is 35
When will you TTC?:
We plan to start trying after the wedding (next October). We can’t agree on exactly when. If it was up to Fiance it would be a honeymoon baby! Depending on the day, sometimes I think we need a few months to save and get back on our feet after the wedding. Other days I wish we were trying now! Most likely, it will be straight after the wedding.
What are you doing to get ready to TTC?:
Honestly? Nothing yet. I think nearer the time (perhaps 4 or 5 months before we start trying) I want to see my doctor about the correct vitamins/supplements I need to start taking.
Do you chart? Link to the chart:
I charted for a month and it turned my into a crazy woman!! Never again!!
All time favourite movie?:
This is a toughie! Anything with Nicholas Cage (he’s my secret don’t-admit-to-anyone crush)

@Christy42213: Thanks for the response!
Well here is an update of how I have been feeling so far. I have now been off BC for 20 days and I am 16 days into my first BC free cycle. I was feeling really good at first and the annoying nauseous feeling I used to get from BC every morning went away very quickly.
However, I have not been feeling great the past 2-3 days. I feel so incredibly bloated it’s really getting uncomfortable. I feel like I wake up with a pregnant belly in the morning and the feeling doesn’t go away even though I haven’t even been eating that much. I have also been having a strange lower abdomen cramping/pinching feeling. The pain is not too bad but it’s enough to make me feel a grumpy. Since I am sort of mid-cycle I figured maybe I am ovulating but usually the pinching/pain would be on one side only. Now it feels like both my ovaries and my uterus are just really not happy with the changes right now!
Anybody else who went off BC has experienced the bloating and abdomen pain?
