When will you TTC?: January /February 2014
What are you doing to get ready to TTC?: taking Elevit and cutting down alcohol to only special occasions. Been using OPKs with no success as yet.
Do you chart? Link to the chart: no, I keep a diary with my cycle details but I am not temping and I don’t plan to at all. Get back to me in 6 mth time though 😉
What are your non-baby New Year’s resolutions?: honestly I don’t really have any. There are lots of things i could do better but they’re the same every year: don’t eat as many lollies, exercise more, keep a tidier house, work on the garden.

@emsy3110: Sounds like you have a lot of similar changes going on in your life! Do you know where you’re moving yet? That’s one of the stresses for us right now – we know we’re moving, but have no idea where!
Isn’t it crazy to think about the changes that can take place in just a year?! By this time next year, DH and I could very well already have a baby….whoa….
The sleep thing isn’t a formal resolution for us, but something DH and I have also been talking about – it’s defiintely a problem (I write at 1am as I’m watching The Hobbit with DH……).
What book are you reading? Would you recommend it? I’m always curious where other bees are going for baby info 🙂
Yay for an earlier timeline!

When will you TTC?: This is ever changing! I’m going to say NTNP beginning in June 2014 now. Husband and I just got promotions, but we want to have some non-IUD time to enjoy each other and we’re planning on going to Vegas in April so we want to be able to enjoy that as well!
What are you doing to get ready to TTC?: I went to the Dr a year ago, so I know everything is go there. I’m planning on getting my IUD removed soon. I need to start pre-natals and work on my health more.
Do you chart? Link to the chart: I don’t currently. We’ve agreed that we’ll get into that if we’ve gone a while without conceiving when the option is open (e.g. no more condoms). My husband thinks it would stress him out/be too much pressure if we jumped into that immediately.
What are your non-baby New Year’s resolutions?: Get into better health. Get the house clean. These aren’t really resolutions, just things we’ve been working on. My husband is going to work on running 1,000 miles this year.
*My username will hopefully be changing to MrsDe2013 soon, so the old one (currently first in December 2014, A____) can be removed from the list – it’s too identifying.

@MrsDe2013: I’ve got you changed – it’ll be the new name and date when I post the next update 🙂

@SadieBee: I will be an official graduate when AF comes, maybe 4-6 days 😉 Thanks for taking on the list. I’ll still stop by this thread and say hi.
I am still visiting family and got two big comments from family “baby related”. One came from SIL, she mentioned how my brother wanted to know how it feels to be an uncle, basically he has no nephews or nieces since he is the only one in the family with kids on both sides. The other one came from my DH dad, so last night was the first night we stayed with my in laws. My Father-In-Law told me he dreamed I had a kid with me, so sweet 😉 I know I have more comments to come, and I really don’t mind them. We haven’t told our families we are so close to trying for a baby.

@SadieBee: I’m reading “Mother of all pregnancy book2nd edition” by Ann Douglas. I’ve bought the Canadian edition since that’s where I live and I wanted something that would give me accurate information 🙂 Hopefully this doesn’t ramble on too much! 🙂 So far it’s been pretty good. We’re up to the chapter on when you find out you’re pregnant. Like I said before, it’s a very general overview of everything but I would recommend it for someone like me who just needed to have all the information in one spot and have a general sense of what goes on. My DH had questions that I wasn’t able to answer, so it’s been a great way to connect with my DH on a different level and really see what the other is thinking about certain things. If there’s a topic that you need more information on, you can do more research. It’s not too technical either, which is nice. It’s also got topics that DH and I haven’t even thought of talking about, so it brings up different and interesting conversations. I bought it on Amazon. There might be an American version too 🙂 That’s as much as I can tell you so far!
Last night I was sitting in the laundry room that we’re redoing while DH was putting in the new flooring and reading to him from the book. I think it’s getting him more in the mindset of TTC. He actually seemed excited/interested! 🙂
We’ve decided that I would make an appointment with the doctor for the end of January-beginning of Fenruary to have my IUD taken out and get my cycles back on track for May!! He has a big work meeting at the end of the month so we’re going to wait and make sure that nothing major happens before I have my IUD taken out though. But, it’s a decision and I feel so much more in control knowing that we’re on the same page and have a plan 🙂

@SadieBee: Thank you so much for keeping a list. I have been lurking on the TTC boards for a little bit now and figured I should post and get into the action!
Age: 28, Hubby is 29
When will you TTC?: We are hoping to get pregnant at the end of the summer (i know that you can’t plan these things but that would be ideal) so we will start trying in july or August depending on what my cycles show etc.
What are you doing to get ready to TTC?: trying to get in the best shape I can possibly be in, going on a few big trips (with friends to Mexico in March, romantic trip with hubby), and saving as much money as possible between now and then.
Do you chart? Link to the chart: I don’t currently and I am still on BCP. I hope to get off the pills in the spring to give my body some time to adjust.
What are your non-baby New Year’s resolutions?: Do a better job of keeping in touch with my brother and keeping a gratitide journal.

@SadieBee: I know we will be going through similar changes this year! We know where we are moving and already have our new place. We need to do some renos first but it’s nice to know exactly where we will live. The only thing left to figure out is a moving date, which will most likely be somewhere in April. The part I am most stressed about is finding a job. I have a good position right now and I’m scared it’ll take me a while to find something and I would hate to delay TTC for that.

@Emma20130601: I’ll have to check that out – I’ve purposely stayed away from pregnancy books, because I have a tendancy to get a little obsessive when it comes to researching 😉 Not always a bad thing, since it’s good to be as informed and prepared as possible for big life changes, but I’m just trying to wait until I’m actually pregnant to move to the pregnancy books. I have read a few books about TTC/prepping for pregnancy (TCOYF, The Impatient Woman’s Guide to Getting Pregnant, Get Ready to Get Pregnant) and the pre-preggo chapters of the Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy, though 🙂
It’s good that you aren’t bothered by their comments! My Mother-In-Law talked a TON while we were visiting about our future kids – I did actually find it cute, because she wasn’t being pressuring at all, she’s just excited for grandbabies (although DH was getting pretty miffed – she’s convinced we’re going to have 4 girls, even though DH has told her over and over that we only want two children). I am a little tired of comments from my brother, though – he’s anxious for us to also have kids (they have two), and maybe even have our first at the same time they have their third, but doesn’t seem to understand why we’re waiting (they have the mindset that money/jobs/housing will all come together, no point worrying about it – while we just want to be responsible).
It’s nice that you have so much of your plans in place! But I know, any uncertainty around big life changes can be stressful.
