I’ve talked to him about my work and once next month passes and that time period I was aiming for passes, it will hit him once we have a baby and I have to turn down a lot of work the first few weeks. I just keep getting the , “I’m not ready.” And you know what? Who honestly is… I mean yea some people are in a better place to have baby but it’s a huge life change for everybody and it can be scary. I think that’s what the issue is. Nothing is changing in 3 months. Yea we have some debt we are working on paying down but it isn’t going to be paid off in 3 months. I guess I just needed to vent here πŸ™‚

@MiJeS1104:  if not for the bee I would drive DH nuts! I have days like this too, He seems to be waiting for some big sign to come to him that he is ready to be a father, but then talks about how badly he wants to teach his kids how to hunt and fish, and coach little league. I feel your pain, and this is probably the safest place to vent! we’re all here for you.

@mrscorgi:  Thank you! That sounds exactly like what DH said when I asked him how will he be ready in 3 months and I guess like you said he’s waiting for that big sign that tells him he’s ready. Ugh, men.

@MiJeS1104:  Thanks for the support! Still no sign of AF so I think I’ll go buy some tests tonight after work. I would be happy to be pregnant but at the same time it would be such bad timing with our big move coming up

@MiJeS1104:  Keep us updated after you talk to your DH next month! Maybe he can meet you half way and start 1-2 months earlier?

@emsy3110:  Let’s hope so. FX for next month, but won’t get my hopes up. He kept asking me why I was so quiet last night and I was just down and didn’t want to discuss it so like a typical woman I say nothing is wrong. So I’m in bed looking at diaper bags on my tablet (yes, that’s how I keep myself happy lol) and he asked me what I was looking at. So he said,”I know how to get you to talk. Anything about babies will get you to talk” . A huge smile was then plastered on my face. So yes, I will keep everyone informed. Hopefully he will turn around!

@emsy3110:  The Mamaroo seems really cool!! I looked up the Skip Hop stuff and wow!! So adorable!! πŸ™‚ I can’t wait to make a list of everything that we need πŸ™‚ Maybe I’ll make a secret one otherwise DH might be a little freaked out. He’s been a lot more open and talkative about babies so I don’t want to push it lol

@SadieBee:  Thanks!! I’ll more than likely take you up on the offer!! I never thought I would consider cloth diapering but after seeing the cost of disposable diapers and also that DH is very environmentally friendly it might be something to look into.

AFM – It’s been a week without BC and it’s been, for the most part, fine but a day after having my IUD taken out (TMI) I bled ALOT for like 3 days. Now I’m back to normal. Now I guess I just wait for AF to show up. I’ve never been regular and always been really bad at tracking when AF will arrive. I’m hoping to be able to figure all of this out before our trip in May!! It’d be fun to schedule our trip for whenever the best time to conceive would be πŸ™‚

@SadieBee: Thanks for the words of welcome!

And I think I can sympathize with your feelings about juggling career timing with motherhood timing. I finished up graduate school last year myself and am currently doing everything I am “supposed” to do in terms of the job market and my expected career track, but I find I’m having serious doubts. Partly because that expected career track looks less and less appealing professionally, and partly because it seems totally incompatible with normal human life, lol, let alone motherhood. I totally feel you on the awkward conversations that go along with these decisions. You are right, at some point you just have to live your life and the rest of it will shuffle into place!

@MiJeS1104:  Your comment about having a huge smile on your face the minute your DH mentioned babies made me smile because that’s exactly how I used to be when my DH was not too talkative when it came to babies yet. Everytime he mentioned it, even when I was trying to be upset, I could not help it but have a big frin on my face. Now he is very comfortable talking about babies and we do so on a daily basis.

@Emma20130601:  You should consider tracking AF with FF app. I am not charting yet but just tracking AF makes my life a whole lot easier. It’s nice to know exactly what CD I am on which gives me a general idea of when AF will come.

@emsy3110:  It’s funny because we can talk about babies everything and anything. We started talking baby names like 6 months into our relationship. Where the conversation stops is when it’s actually getting busy to produce thos babies. I’m going to convince him that next month will be the month πŸ™‚

@SadieBee thanks!

They are both 5, and their birthdays are one day apart so they’re practically twins -just not blood related πŸ™‚

@MiJeS1104:  I would almost prefer the ‘I’m not ready!’ over ‘But we don’t yet have $42,897.92 saved up! We only have $35,522.99!’ As others go on their merry way popping out kids without 2 cents to rub together.

Blah!!!!!!!! Sometimes don’t you wish we could strangle them – lol.

Anyway. In the next three months, the wives of DH’s three friends that he sees the most (which is admittedly not often, DH isn’t hugely social) are all giving birth. I kinda hope it’ll change his mind a bit. Cos when all those guys went and bought houses, DH wanted to go and buy a house too after being adament he was never going to buy a house. We bought a house πŸ˜‰

I feel like I’m the only one with a stubborn as hell DH… I CANNOT move him on the baby issue. His Nana told me to ‘use my feminine wiles’, well mine must be broken cos they ain’t working! *smh*
