@amyinbrisbane:  Maybe seeing his close friends have babies will be the little extra push he needs!

@amyinbrisbane:  Sometimes men just need that extra push in everything! As long as its not a push from us. Fiance eventually came around to the idea of an actual wedding, it just needed to happen on his own terms, now he’s pretty excited for it. As for the baby situation. Fiance was the one who told me he wanted a honeymoon baby.

@MiJeS1104:  Hahah I totally get it. We just had another chat about our timeline (plan is to start TTC in July) since we haven’t really spoken about it since early December. At the end of the convo I said, sooooo what I got from that conversation is that we can start trying in June…? His response was, nice try! It’s still July. Innocent

Probably for the best anyways since I’m a bridesmaid in a mid-July wedding. But the second that wedding is over it’s baby making time!

@brlabrat:  It’s so hard figuring out how to juggle all of the things.  Have you read Lean In?   I just read it recently and was totally inspired….. but still don’t know how to juggle.  What field are you in?

@amyinbrisbane:  That is so frustrating.  I bet his friends having babies will have an impact, though– my DH’s friends having babies made him WAY more excited about it.  I think it helps when it’s closer to home, you know?

@Mrs. Coyote:  There’s always the wedding night…. Wink  Hopefully you O in the later half of the month!  We are planning a family trip in July and thinking of TTC right around that time…. as it gets closer I feel like I might be on pins and needles waiting to see around when I’ll O.

DH is also kind of: “ok we agreed about to start TTC this summer, but until its here, I just do not really want to talk about”. I would say he tries to fully enjoy his last “free” month and talking about TTC or babies on a daily basis (what I would like to do πŸ™‚ pushes him to much.
I think I will try to minimaze talking to him about babies and TTC until summer and I will rather do it on the Bee πŸ™‚

And I also know that time will help, as my sister in low is excpecting her 2. child for this summer and I still remember how emotinal my DH got, when he saw his nephew the first time, so I know when the second child of my sister in law arrives he will be so touched, that he will be feeling ready as well!

So only a few month, I only wish I would not be that terrible in waiting πŸ™‚

So I caved and I POAS this morning, which was a BFN. And I totally wasted a test because AF showed up about 15 minutes later!

Something good came out of this experience of thinking I was pregnant though! Last night I asked DH how he would feel if I were pregnant and he said he would actually be really excited! So now, unless it takes me forever to find a job, we will probably move our TTC start date to June! 1-2 months earlier definitely makes me happy πŸ™‚

@Sziszo1:  Yea DH doesn’t really want to talk about it either, but it’s sooooo hard for me! I am so excited and I feel like it’s all I’m thinking about! Thank goodness for this thread and you ladies! I would be going nuts right now.

this, 100% I feel like sometimes men need a reality check, Before there were dollar bills, men and women were making babies. it actually does not take x amt of $ to make a baby! being the first of our friends to be married and actually discussing babies freaks him out. I wish he had some guy friends that were soon to be dads, to calm his nerves and show him what it would really be like!

I definitely agree with that. His best friend and brother got engaged and then we did.  I have a feeling it will be like that with TTC. He probably doesn’t want to be the first one to have a baby. Though we know his brother and wife are TTC, so maybe that will help.

@emsy3110:  Thanks!! I’ll check it out πŸ™‚

Hypothetical question for all you waiting ladies…

If your SO was willing to NTNP starting now but said that if you were to get pregnant, he didn’t want to go on a trip to Europe (nothing booked – but scheduled for 3 months from now), what would you do?

A) Wait until the trip is over

B) Take a chance and start NTNP

C) Try to convince him that doing both is feasible – what logic would you use?

@Emma20130601:  Is it a trip that you have been planning for a long time and are both very excited about? If so, I think I would wait until I’m on the trip to start TTC. I would want to enjoy my trip fully and who nows, it would probably be the last trip before baby comes. I know waiting 3 months seems like a lot in the waiting to TTC world, but I think in the end the trip would be a lot more fun without the possible side effects of an early pregnancy.

@Emma20130601:   Oh man thats tough! I think I would go with B, but then again I’d personally would die to go to europe. It might be fun to try for a baby in europe
