@emsy3110:  Thanks! πŸ˜€ It’s not active trying but basically, if it happens, well, that’d be nice too sort of thing πŸ™‚ The wedding is a month away, we have good savings, own our house, good jobs, have been together almost 9 years and a bill is close to passing in parliment that will double the paid parental leave in our country (3 months to 6). We’re ready πŸ™‚ But probably won’t start ‘trying’ for realsies until a few months after the wedding if there’s not an ‘oops’ before then.

Soooo I bought TCOYF and am about halfway through the book. Yea, I definitely did not know this much detail about my cycle. I’ve been on the pill for over 10 yrs and have just been kind of living in ignorant bliss hahaha. I am going to talk to DH tonight about stopping the pill a bit sooner than we originally discussed so I can attempt charting for a few months before TTC.

@livelaughlove628:  I bought and read TCOYF a couple months ago and read it pretty fast. It really is a great book. I cannot believe that there is SO much, at 24, that I still didn’t know about my own body. It’s crazy! I still have decided to not temp/chart until we have been actively trying for a few months with no BFP still. But I would recommend the book to anyone, whether TTC or not! It’s awesome.

@livelaughlove628:  Haha yea, DH was initially scared — like what the hell is this book for? But when I explained to him that the book shows you how you can prevent AND how to conceive he calmed down a bit. I just spun it as I want to be aware of what my body is doing more than I want to use this as a tool to get pregnant right away (which is true!). Plus, his mother was using FAM when she was got pregnant so the whole charting thing is not so foreign to him.

@Imabigkidnow:  Yep, I’m 28 and clueless apparently… Originally I figured we’d go into it without charting, but now that I’m reading the book and understand how to do it I’m just really curious to see what my cycles are like. Plus if it helps us get a BFP sooner, what the heck!

So, last night I had a dream that I went out and bought a baby doll just so I could hold it and pretend it was my actual baby.

THAT’s how pathetic I am now hahaha… after staring too long at my 25 year old brother-in-law’s unborn baby’s 12-week ultrasound.

@amyinbrisbane:  Haha! It’s okay, I have weird baby dreams all the time now. I will see my friend’s 2 month old baby for the first time this weekend and I cannot wait! I think I will hold her until someone takes her from me haha!

@livelaughlove628:  I’ve also been wanting to read that book, although I am not sure I will want to do full on charting right away. I just don’t think I can have the discipline to take my temperature at the same time every day, especially on the weekends. Have any of you read The Impatient Woman’s Guide to Getting Pregnant? That’s on my to-do reading list as well.

@emsy3110:  I wont be charting at first either because i dont want to stress out at first. I will be taking some OPKs with me on the honeymoon just to see if they work. If we dont get a BFP by the end of 2014 ill start taking some action

@livelaughlove628:

I feel the exact same way! I am already scaring my husband with how much I talk about pregnancy and baby stuff. He has had a minor freakout already and almost bailed on our timeline, but came around after a couple days. I am a HUGE researcher, so I have been reading so much already, only online though. I am trying to hold off as long as I can stand before buying books. I bet I won’t last very long Tongue Out

Age: 26 and DH is 26 also

When will you TTC?: starting FTC in May so hopefully I will deliver in Spring 2015 (I’m a teacher and would like to spend 6 weeks and then 8 weeks of summer with baby before putting he/she in a daycare)

What are you doing to get ready to TTC?: taking prenatals, (new chapter),  trying to strengthen my core (todo 2 discs almost a yr ago), and eating better

Do you chart? Link to the chart: so far I’m charting AF and symptoms on Pink Page app, but just got a basal thermometer so I will start temping soon!

What are your non-baby New Year’s resolutions?:

get in shape mentally and physically and be a better wife to DH πŸ™‚

Cross posted from charters:

So… My sister is pregnant. She and her DH just got married in August. It’s childish but I wanted to give my parents their first grandchild. It’s childish and selfish but I can’t help but be sort of down. But I’m also excited for them. I’m not even TTC so that’s where my frustration lays. I’m resenting my DH for making me wait and now I’ve “missed my chance”.

Upside is that maybe my mom will bw more chill with my kid if she’s gonna be all over my sisters. :/ upside is that they didnt have to struggle, another upside is that I’m gonna be an aunt for the fourth time. I’m truly happy for them but right now I’m feeling bitter and frustrated. :/ sorry for the rant. :/ I know this is the charting thread not Emotional.
