The search has begun for SO’s engagement watch!
From the beginning, I told the SO that if he was getting me a ring then I wanted to get him something as well that symbolized/commemorated our engagement – so he decided on a watch… which frnakly sounds better than the engagement PS3
We went to the mall last weekend to see if there were any that caught his eye and we managed to narrow down his type. Can you lovely bees recommend any brands for men’s watches?
Also, we found some jewellery manufacturers here in NZ that are willing and happy to work with lab-created gemstones so that we don’t have to worry about finding and entrusting an online vendor whom we never met. So yay!!

My Boyfriend or Best Friend has one of those ecodrive watches where the watch face is a mini solar panel, so it never needs new batteries. He really likes it. Do you have a budget for the watch? Because I know of a lot of nice watch brands but some of them are on the expensive side…

I LOVE Skagen watches. They have really fine mesh bands and the faces are just beautiful. I especially love their line of blue-faced watches. I’m not sure if I’m allowed to post links on this site, but just google Skagen. Their site is nice, and I bought one in person at a Fireworks store a few years ago. I’m sure there are other brick and mortar stores in which you can find them as well.

I’ve bought Boyfriend or Best Friend several watches. He likes Fossil watches and I got him a nice, engraved pocket watch with a line form a favorite movie – your SO could wear it as a ‘suit watch’ which I think is coming back into style these days.
I like this, but it may be too pricey (it is for me)

I don’t know what your budget is so I don’t know if this will help you or not. But I got my now Darling Husband a Tag Heuer as his engagement watch.

I second Fossil watches! I bought one for SO for our 2nd anniversary and he loves it.

Thank you for all the replies so far my lovely bees!
@futuremrste: and @delirium.megans: My budget maximum is about NZ$1,000-$1,500 which equates to US$800-$1200.
Ok I’m noting down Skagen, Ecodrive, Fossil, Bulova and Tag Heuer – I will have to check these watches out when I can . @yellowshoe: I’ve been to the Tag Heuer site before but they didn’t have the prices. Are you able to tell me their price range please if you can? You can pm me if you want.
Ooh thank you @Isilme: – an engraved pocket watch sounds like a really great idea! I’m definitely going to keep that in mind – though I might save it as his wedding gift. And thank you for the link for that Celestial Astrodea watch – I love the blue of the watch face and coincidentally, the SO was admiring a Tissot watch with a blue face last weekend. And it’s in my budget – going to bookmark it and show it to the SO and ask him what he thinks.
And thank you @CupcakeLove:!

This is the watch I gave Fiance before we got engaged:
It’s a Victorinox Swiss Army Mach 4, he loves it. I actually won it in a prize package, at the time time it was retailing about $1500 USD, but it’s about a year old now, so I’m sure it can be found for less.

Darling Husband picked a Movado watch for his engagement watch. Not only is it beautiful and classic but he was able to wear it on out wedding day. Good luck!

My Fiance has a burberry watch that is amazing. He said its worth about 850. He got it at an outlet for less though.
