So my Boyfriend or Best Friend and I have, through a series of discussions, that we want to get married, and now we’ve reached a point where we are talking about the specifics of the wedding itself, like catering, venue, budget etc. We have also looked at rings together. In addition to this, my Boyfriend or Best Friend has started to talk a lot about how he is sick of living with housemates, and how he dreams of buying a house with me somewhere nice. A few months ago he shunned all talk of even renting a place together, so this is quite a progress.
But so far there has been no proposal and no ring. My Boyfriend or Best Friend says he wants the proposal to be a surprise, and therefore he is refusing to even give me a time-line as to when I can expect to get engaged. When we went to Prague as an anniversary trip this month, I asked him jokingly when we are going to get engaged, and he just smiled and said “That’s a surprise”. One part of me thinks it will happen soon because we have talked about it a lot recently, but I try not to get too excited about it because he may very well decide to take his time as we most likely won’t be able to afford a wedding before 2012 anyway.
It’s amazing to know that he wants to get married as much as I do. However, I really wish the proposal would come soon so that we can make it official and start planning properly.
