My father recently passed away so he won’t be walking me down the aisle. But I was lucky that he told me who he wanted to walk me – his best friend, my godfather.
I made adorable little boxes to ask my bridesmaids and Fiance did cute frames that said groomsmen for his and my mom suggested I do something to “ask” this guy to walk me down the aisle. He doesn’t have any children and I think this would be an great honor for him. I’m just not sure how to ask in a “cute way.” He lives in a different state than me so in person is out of the question. Any ideas?

Aww, that is lovely and I am sure he will love the honor.

Does he have any specific hobbies that you know about? Fishing, hunting, sports? Could you make another box but have it look like a fishing box, sport something, and just have a note inside asking him? I’m sure he’ll appreciate you asking him no matter what you do! So sweet!

My mom had the idea of doing a Wedding Questions powerpoint (like where will it be? What’s the date? And then, Who will walk me down the aisle?) do you think that’s cute or corny?

I think for a man anything you’ll do would be a little corny. I’d just ask him: only that is a huge honor in itself.

@orangeroses29: I agree, guys are usually moer to the point. it might be nice to give him something special to keep, but you could do that as a gift at the rehersal dinner. just call him up and talk to him.

I would take him out for a beer and heart to heart and explain that it was my fathers wish that he would be there in his place. No matter what you do he will be honored! So sorry for your loss.
