I am planning on walking down the aisle to “Come to Me” by the Goo Goo Dolls. The lyrics are why I love the song so I don’t want to use an instrumental version. Has anyone else walked down the aisle to a song with lyrics? Did you just have it fade out? Will this sound awkward since there are lyrics?

hikingbride: There is an app for iphone that does this FOR you. Called My Wedding DJ. You can have someone work it from anywhere in the venue- I walked down the aisle to Jeff Buckley’s cover of Hallelujah, and decided where to fade it out and had my wedding coordinator hit a button and it gently faded. Perfect.

MissCaraMia: Our DJ is doing the ceremony music for us, I’m not worried about who will run it more just how it will sound when he fades it out.

I walked down the aisle to “Today – Joshua Radin” and it faded out when I reached my ex-H.
It wasn’t weird and no-one thought anything of it. If it stopped abruptly people may notice but the fade has you covered.

I walked down the aisle to “Can’t take me eyes off you”. My friend was singing and we timed it for her to end and for me to finish walking at a certain point. I suggest just finding an ending point and letting it fade. People won’t even notice. Honestly

I.ve been to weddings where the song started, the officiant said “please rise” at a specific point in the song when the bride is ready to walk, she walked, and they finished out the song. It worked just as well. It’ll be special if it’s special to you.

hikingbride: I’m also using a song with lyrics. I’m having a friend who knows music software inside out cut the song to the appropriate length, so it won’t end midway through a sentence or anything. The verse or chorus will finish, and the music will fade out there.

I walked to ‘What Would I do Without You’ by Drew Holcombe and the Neighbours, and someone faded it out mid-lyrics wjem I reached my Darling Husband. I barely paid attention, and people definitely didnt notice! As long as you fade and not just cut off abruptly it doesn’t really matter.
