I adore these two: January Rain (David Gray) or Northern Sky (Nick Drake), both from the Serendipity soundtrack.  Nick Drake also has Pink Moon, which I also love.

I’m also considering She Will Be Loved (Maroon 5) or Chasing Cars (Snow Patrol), both of which have significant meaning for us but I’m not sure if they’re *too* pop-y or obvious?

If you want to check out instrumentals, Vitamin String Quartet and Piano Tribute Players have tons and tons of modern songs of every genre that have been made into instrumental pieces.

What style of music are you going for? Traditional or something different?

I feel like the lyrics in a song are significant. I’m walking down the aisle to “Love of my Life” by Brian Mcknight. I love every word in that song. I doubt if any guest would be able to keep a dry eye with the lyrics in that song.

I walked down the aisle to Here Comes the Sun, played on piano and coronet. It was really cool when people figured out what song it was.

I walked to Enya’s “May It Be” (performed by a string duo). My fiance didn’t really like it at first (thought it sounded too sad) but it was the only song that connected with me. After a while, our string people said they could speed it up to make it sound less sad and more lively, so we agreed. It was beautiful!
