Have you told her flat out that you and your Fiance would like to walk down the aisle unescorted? I also saw a wedding recently where the bride came out and the groom (who was already at the front). Came down and met her half way, took her hand and escorted her up the aisle the rest of the way. It was really sweet and everyone cried. Haha

Whew. Wish I had sage wisdom. I’ve got a family here saying that they’re religious…so what we actually want would just be a back stab/break their heart. I am sorry you are going through this. All you can do is explain your feelings calmly. You may end up hurting feelings. What you have to ask is “does this compromise mean more than their feelings?”

Sometimes it does and sometimes you need to let the posey boquets go. 🙂

If nothing else you really can just bust down the aisle without their knowledge and hope for the best 😉

Uggggg… why do parents interfere like this? I hope I am not like that when/if I’m a mom.

@littlegreenleaf:  Is this about her wanting to walk you? or just wanting to walk, period. Maybe you could have the moms escorted down the aisle before you two walk down? then she gets to walk the aisle? and is still included…

Just keep putting your foot down. Tell her NO. Tell her that you are walking alone, end of story. This is YOUR wedding, not hers, and she does not get to dictate what you want.

I was just going to say that I’m glad that I don’t have to deal with this, and now that I think about it, I’m worried that my estranged mother is going to think I want her to walk me. NOPE. She’s lucky that she (and her disgusting boyfriend) are even invited.
