Has anyone walked down the aisle alone? Were you nervous?
I don’t have a dad or a man in my life who I’d pick for me to walk me down, and I was going to ask Future Father-In-Law, but he has severe leg problems and can barely walk, so I don’t want to make him do anymore than he has to on our wedding day.
Our officiant mentioned that I could walk down, and then Fiance could walk half way back up the aisle and meet me, then walk me the rest of the way. The idea of EVERYONE looking at me all by myself scares the heck outta me though!

I think it’s a nice idea actually! The only thing I would say is that if you are shy/nervous and have a lot of guests you might feel a bit apprehensive about walking out. I was so nervous by the time it came to those doors opening that I was very thankful for my girlies walking in ahead of me and breaking the stares a bit and my dad’s arm to support myself on. But as long as you are reasonably confident you’ll be fine.

Why can’t you and your Fiance walk the whole way together? I think that’s always a nice idea.
I’m walking alone, but i’m nervous too!

I want to.
My parents seem to think that my father needs to “give me away”, but that idea makes me want to scream “I’m not property to be handed over!!!”

@viewfrmhere: I like the idea of him seeing me walk down, even if it’s only part-way. I’m old fashioned that way. 🙂
I’m just not one who likes all eyes on me. Knowing me, I’ll fall on my face or something…oi
