So my issue is that I am really opposed to going trivial as for music choises for my wedding and decided to walk down the aisle to “Sunrise, sunset” from Fiddler on the roof. I love the song, and love the musical…But we are not jewish in any way. Would it be appropriate? The song is so beautiful, but it feels to me that many people will associate it with a jewish ceremony. Am I right?

@Fegele: well perhaps Jewish people will? but i don’t think i would have necessarily made the association. and even if a few people do and they ask you about it after, just tell them what you said here: I love the song, and love the musical

I agree with @PurpleUnicorn: I think that maybe a few Jewish people will associate the song but I certainly wouldn’t… and even if I did, I certainly wouldn’t think, “Hey! They aren’t Jewish! Why are they using this song?!” I think that if YOU love it, then that’s all that matters!

I think that it is a great idea!! I wouldn’t associate it with a Jewish ceremony…and I don’t think many people would make the connection.
