I wore a sheath with silk underlay. The “spanx” i wore was a skirt style not shorts, i had 0 problems and I was barefoot for most of it (outdoor reception/photos) still no issues.

misschic94 : Totally try this dress! I havent seem many people in it – I think the straight neck line isisnt for everyone so not chosen as often. I love it persoanlly. I know family and suggested a colored sash or something with blind. But I loved the simpel white sash. Godo luck at your appointment! FYI – I chose it in Ivory ( they only had white at the store ) and it’s incredible, looks white on and in pictures, just a softer white then the stark “white” I tried on.

planningbee2017 : Not a hoop, but a stiff slip will work wonders. As far as walking once you get your underwear figured out, it’s hard to explain. You have to walk strong, like kind of kick out the dress as you walk or it will get bundled up between your legs. It takes practice. I would say find a good slip and then practice walking in the slip until you get the hang of it.
