ok here is my problem! I am pretty fair and when I sunbake it doesn’t last long, I get a nice tan then a month later I am fair again! I had a nice tan this summer but now winter in Aussieland and I am white as a fetta cheese again! ok not that much but fair! I wanted to try solarium before my wedding ( personally never been in solarium as living in a sunshine state :)) but now everyone saying it’s very dangerous and not worth taking the risk!! I don’t want to do spray tanning or anything like that as I don’t want to ruin my dress + feels they look very orange color! don’t know what to do >.<

My grandmother was a golfer for years and never used sunscreen. Now she has skin cancer. Better safe than sorry. I’m sure there are options out there that are not going to turn you orange. I would have to say your health is more important than your appearance, but that is just my opinion.

I would suggest a custom airbrush tan. It is different than a spray tan in a booth because someone is custom mixing your color and spraying you so you don’t get splotchy.
I know women in here will say that there isn’t much harm in going tanning just for you wedding, but I would rather be safe than sorry. At 19 I had my first mole removed and tested, and luckily it was benign. I am now 22 and on Saturday I am going back to get at least one more removed. I have NEVER stepped foot inside a tanning salon and regularly wear sunscreen too :/

Get a spray tan way in advance so you can test it, or get your stomach done or something like that – to test it.
We already have ozone probs down here, I don’t think a tanning booth is a good idea.

i vote for the custome airbrush tan too! i’ve had it done twice (once for a formal event, and once a month before because i wanted to do a trial run). They custom mix a colour for you, and then you strip down (you can go naked or wear a swimsuit) and then they come in to the room and airbrush your whole body and face very carefully, then blowdry you so it sets faster. I spent the rest of the day with really loose clothes on (went home and just hung around in big t-shirt) and it set beautifully. it’s intense the first day or two, but by the 3rd/4th day it’s very natural looking – so you could have it done a few days prior to the wedding (and i’d suggest a test run the month before). That being said, just make sure not to exfoliate or shave your legs after, or you’ll peel the colour off! And don’t forget to wear sunscreen ON TOP of the spray tan – it doesn’t protect you from anything!
