I’m house sitting with my manfriend for his mother and she has a bunch of mint in her back patio. So I decided to make some tea: boiled it up, added more sugar than I needed and stuck it in the fridge to get cold. Once I took a sip though, I instantly recognized the taste as something my mom used to make me- but I couldn’t place my finger on when. So I texted her and asked. Her reply? She used to give it to my sister and I in our bottles.
Yea right, I’m thinking. But she was serious- I guess she thought it made our stomachs better when we were sick? But she couldn’t remember ever making it for us after we were toddlers (hello pepto bismal, you’re not nearly as delicious).
Now, granted I am about 4 years older than my sister. So I could technically have had this up until I was 6-7 (who didn’t steal their sister’s bottle of delicious juice?). But still- it was so wierd to have remembered the taste.
