So, I am SUCH A GIRL right now which is really unlike me. I wear sneakers every single day, and I only wear heels, and I mean low ones, if I am wearing a dress. This happens maybe 2-3 times per year.
I am also really clumsy, so I have no intention of wearing heels on my wedding day, no matter how short I may be. However, I decided to randomly shop online for shoes when I heard there was a sale on 6pm.com (check it out, by the way).
Here’s my dilemma. I’m in love with these shoes.
So what do I do? Whenever I wear heels my feet ache after just a little while, and I really want to be comfortable on my wedding day. Also these shoes are $80 which is more than I want to pay. 🙁

I mean, you only get married once (ideally)…Maybe get flats or use some cute shoes that you already own for the reception so your feet aren’t dying? Or buy them, don’t walk around in them but get pictures taken and then return them? LOL

I’d see if I could find flats in a similar color and fabric. They are pretty but will kill your feet! And in a long dress, you’ll really only see the toes anyway.

6pm.com have similar in flats heres a link
they could maybe get these in blue? and they are only $22

These shoes are actually pretty comfortable because of the platform. I bought them to wear but changed my mind because I found other ones I like better.
That price is also awesome, I paid $170 for mine!! (They’re going back tomorrow)
You could always get them and wear them around the house for a few days and return them if they’re really uncomfortable.

- Wedding: August 2013 - Brookfield Zoo
I recommend flats for the reception, heels for the ceremony.. and make sure you practice walking in your new heels to break them in and get used to them too!! That’s my plan 🙂

Thanks for the advice so far!
The biggest problem I seem to be having is that I really want the shoes to be teal. I think I want something in teal satin but I am just not finding it other than in heels…
I also appreciate your bearing with me while I uncharacteristically girl out.

I NEVER wear heels either (prior to getting engaged, I didn’t even own any). I bought cute heels for the wedding and wore them for about 5 minutes. The photog took pictures of them while I was getting ready and a few pictures of our feet — and then I immediately changed into Toms. I was glad I had the heels though, and I’m hoping the pictures will be cute! Maybe you could do that too? Wear them for pictures and then change?

@likelimeade: We’re on a really tight budget and there’s absolutely no leeway for me to buy shoes to wear for five minutes. My shoes are an evening commitment, I’m afraid.
I appreciate your ladies’ helping me bolster my resolve not to wear heels. My aunt went through her entire ceremony and reception in 4 inch heels and I thought she was nuts. I was a bridesmaid and she had in me something like 1 1/2″ heels and I couldn’t walk by the end of the reception. Given, I was 12 at the time, but I still think this experience colored my opinion of heels.

Man, I love those shoes from Dillard’s but they don’t have my size! 🙁

Just wanted to update that I found some cute shoes online at Kohl’s for a really good price!
I got these in teal, and with a promo code and shipping they came out to a total of $33.
Bonus is that the reviews said they are very comfortable!

I am your opposite. I only own 1 good pair of sneakers and I only wear them to exercise LOL. I wear heels pretty much everytime I go out. But I am wearing flats for my wedding.
