Do you have a seamstress who will work on the dress this early?  I know some won’t do it more than 16 or so weeks out.

Do you already have your shoes?

I’d want to do it as close to the wedding as possible because if you gain or lose, you don’t want to be having to fool with it again.

@xakikox:  i was in the exact same situation.  i was flying back to ontario for my wedding and i wanted it done early while i was in ontario.  my dress fit perfectly (wasn’t planning on dieting) and i just needed a hem and bustle.  i got it hemmed in november for my april wedding.

murphy’s law…i ended up getting very ill just 6-7 weeks before the wedding.  i was in bed for 2 weeks and lost 15lbs.  the few weeks before the wedding i tried to gain back a few lbs but couldn’t.  when i got back to ontario, i tried on my dress and it nearly fell off of me.  i had to get my seamstress to do a rush fitting.

bottomline, i’d get it hemmed if everything else fits great.  just don’t lose weight and don’t get sick.

some seamstresses won’t fit your dress too early but with your situation, they probably will.

I’m bumping because I’m in a similar situation and want to see what others have to say. Good point on the shoes @asscherlover!

If you tend to be at a pretty stable weight and have been for a long time than I think you’ll be fine.  If you havent’ changed weight much than you shouldn’t change too much before the wedding
