oh @megz06:! LoL! I LOVE the pack n play, we almost got this one and I read that it can be a total pain in the butt to get the bassinette infant sleeper on/off. When I was a nanny I watched a husband & wife try to put the double stroller together along with the addition to hold the infant carrier. It was so funny to watch them do it together & I ultimately asked the mama, “how does your marriage survive such a thing?” – she said “there can only be one indian and one chief.” Anywho these baby gadgets are tricky tricky! I’ve been a bad wife and have been assembling baby gear while Darling Husband is at work (I told him, “I fully recognize that I’m depriving you of the joy of assembling baby gear, but i just cant help myself.”) I put the swing and bouncer together, and oh em gee the bouncer was almost the death of me!

I’m glad that you and Darling Husband survived the baby gear assembly and lived to tell the tale!

OMG I tried to put our togfether myself and had to stop.  The instructions are TERRIBLE.  And I didn’t think through the location and now I have take it back down before the crib gets here Monday.

@megz06:  too funny!  FH and I say the same thing about just about anything from Ikea.  If you can survive putting that stuff together, you’re doing something right!

We have the same pack and play to put together :/ Darling Husband and I do not put things together well. It usually results in me leaving the room.

We put together our graco crib the other weekend … and that was frustrating because the damn person who designed it necessitated having to hold the lock lug not thing in WHILE having to screw in the screw. Darling Husband was not impressed.

I giggled at your story. Glad you two “survived” the assembly!

@megz06:  Awesome post!

How about getting stranded in Cambodia because your bus company screwed you out of your return ticket? That’s my best pre-baby equivalent!!! I am usually the planner and the problem solver in our relationship but I had reached my breaking point and was crying in the lobby of our hotel and my husband totally took over and got us a taxi and everyone assured us we’ve be able to get a bus back to Bangkok once we crossed the border in Thailand. I was sure we were going to get stuck at the border, but we went through the border super easy and somebody asked if we needed a bus within 10 seconds of exiting the border. I think the Thai bus guy thought I was a bit looney because I started laughing with relief when he asked. But I totally couldn’t have done it without my husband!

@megz06:  Obvs you need couple’s therapy! Hah!  Assembling anything from Ikea will also put the strongest marraige to the test, I would know.

haha…aren’t those supposed to be easy so you can set it up and take it down for traveling?  I got my set up in a minute (it’s super easy) but it took me about 10-15 minutes of looking at it to figure out how to get it back into it’s carry-pack.  It was frustrating but hopefully once we start using it I’ll remember and it’ll be simple.

@megz06:  lol we have the same pack n play! I do remember it being a huge pain to put together. my Darling Husband doesn’t have any patience with these types of things as it is so he was freaking out through the whole ordeal. I eventually just walked away and let him handle it. Glad you guys made it through!

@megz06:  I love this….because we did the EXACT SAME THING. We took comfort in the fact that at least it wasn’t just one of us, both of us were definitely losing our minds.

Thanks for the laugh 🙂
