I know this is long so you can skip to the last paragraph!
My brother and I have some very great memories together from when we were younger. My favorite one that comes to mind is one particular day when my mom was expecting guests over (we were maybe 8-10 years old at the time.) We lived in the country and she had spent all day cleaning and cooking. It had decided to rain all morning so when it stopped, my brother and I decided it would be great to put on some old clothes and go have a huge mud fight. We lost track of time and disappeared for about 2 hours, I mean we had mud caked into our hair and even into our underpants. Now that I think about it, it was actually pretty disgusting but I wouldnt trade that memory for the world. When we decided we were done, all the guests and family had arrived so you can imagine how pissed my mom was lol.
My brother is mentally handicapped, he had major brain surgery when I was 5 and he almost died. He is also slightly physically handicapped. When I moved away about 5 or 6 years ago we really stopped talking and I didnt do much to keep in touch with him. He has a short temper (he is on medication for his disorder and is under doctor supervision.) Probably the main reason I stopped talking to him is because before I moved away, we got into an argument (that he probably doesnt remember) and he ended up punching me in the jaw. I would say that the incident is probably half my fault becuase I knew of his disorder and I didnt do anything to try and stop the argument. Acutally I may have provoked it, but we are both different people now.
Anyways, the day before my wedding I want to spend at least 5 hours with my brother doing something badass in Dallas but I dont know what. I thought of going kayaking but I dont want to risk sunburn. Paintballing aslo popped into my mind but would be a HUGE mistake to do the day before the wedding. Any fun and awsome ideas that wont have a negative effect on the wedding day?

Are you close to an amusement park? That seems like it would be fun, and hopefully not result in an injury of some kind.
Edit: I realize now that might not be an option with his physical disability (I skipped to the end at first).

@Bubbles42: He can pretty much do everything a normal person can with the exception of amusement park things unless the rides are slow and simple. He had surgery because he fell down and hit his head when he was 3, which immediately led to internal bleeding in his brain followed by severe seizures. So out of precaution, he isn’t allowed to go on things that make shake his head or put unusual pressure on his brain. It sucks because Six Flags would honestly be the perfect option otherwise!!
ETA more info on his physical disabilities. His seizures caused paralysis in his entire left side, but with therapy he now has use of everything except his left arm. He thankfully can walk and run like normal (well, with a tiny limp.) He just doesn’t have use of the left arm, but it hasn’t stopped him from doing two handed things like playing xbox etx.

I don’t think you need much elaborate entertainment to reconnect with your brother. A leisurely walk in the park with a huge playground and your combined imaginations are enough to do the trick.

@vegrabbit:
True, we could get sno cones and sit on the swings for a while! He would love that! He isn’t quite the talker so we always had our fun by doing something mischievous or something that was related to sports or physical activity. He is really adventurous, but right now he is living in a group home to provide him the best care and they don’t get out all too much so I wanted to surprise him with something really fun!

Oh perfect! I’ve never been into baseball, but I’ve also never been to a game and I’ve heard they are so much fun! He loves baseball but hasn’t been to a game either so I’ll go see if that’s an option!!

@sheepandbear: Games are always fun! 🙂 And you can usually get cheap (~$20ish) seats from the box office the day of 🙂

@s2bmrscook: The Rangers are @Athletics on Wednesday (day before the wedding) but are playing at home the day after. I’ll have to see if my parents would be willing to stay an extra day for a baseball game. The tickets are crazy cheap compared to NFL tickets. And there are smaller baseball teams too? The Texas RoughRiders are at home the day before… I wouldnt have ever known about this lol.

@sheepandbear: Yep there’s minor league and semi-pro teams everywhere! The tickets are usually super cheap too.

Does he like animals? How about the zoo? Lots of exercise, scenery, and all kinds of things to do.. some zoos even offer trade or safari rides!
