At this point I have tried on some 40 different dresses at a handful of bridal stores around the Bay Area, and there are two styles I keep coming back to and can’t seem to get out of my head:
Lazaro 3865: http://www.jlmcouture.com/Lazaro/Bridal/Additional/Style-3865
Enzoani ‘Dayton’: http://www.weddingshoppeinc.com/pr/Blue-by-Enzoani-Dayton/32997
As I can’t justify the $4000 price for a new Lazaro, I’m looking to buy a sample or pre-owned dress. There is just one of these selling online, but it’s about six inches too large for me in the bust and I’m concerned that it will look really distorted on me if I try to size it down that dramatically. If anyone has tips on sizing down a dress with a lot of beading on it, I’m all ears!
Also, if any brides have worn Enzoani ‘Dayton’ I’d love to see pictures – it’s so hard to tell what the lace and halter strap look like in person.

@slimmette: I personally LOVE the enzoani dress which is surprising for me because I usually tend to lean towards anything Lazaro. The enzoani dress will deinitely be cheaper and its from their Blue collection so you should be ablle to get it at a decent price. RKbridal.com is an actual store in New York and they have a no frills program where you just order it on line and find your own taylor. Their prices seem to be the best and they match prices by 5% as well. If you lived close by you could probably try it on there as well.
Both are beautiful dresses and you definitely have a tough decision to make. Do you have any pictures of you in either of the dresses?

I just purchased the Dayton by Enzoani and I’m completely in love. With alterations and the extended hem to hollow (since I’ll be approximately 5’10” with heels) it came to under $2k. Very happy with my purhcase! Now I just can’t wait for it to get here.
