- Wedding: November 2012
So, I am admittedly a control-freak. When I want something done a certain way, I tend to think that I am the only one capable of doing it right. Here is my main dilemma as of this very moment:
Instead of a traditional wedding cake, we will have a small 2-tier cake on top of a cupcake tree/tower. FYI, the top tier will be the one we save for our one year anniversary and the bottom tier will be the one we cut into and have served to us, the wedding party, and our parents.
Originally, we were going to have the cupcakes be one flavor and decorated the same way. After our cupcake tasting (YUM!) we decided on two different flavors: chocolate with coffee flavored buttercream frosting and white cake with vanilla flavored buttercream frosting. The 50 white ones will have buttercream roses on top and the 50 chocolate ones will have a traditional swirl with gold sugar sprinkled on it.
We will have no idea how to place the cupcakes on the tower in a way that is aesthetically pleasing until the day of the wedding. We also do not know how many cupcakes will fit on each tier, only that it can hold up to 300 cupcakes (more than enough room). If anyone happens know how many cupcakes per tier an Original Round Cupcaketree can hold, PLEASE let me know! I can’t find any information on their website.
I am wondering should I give someone (who?) some options/ideas and hope for the best? Or make time to do it myself? I’m tempted to do it myself, but afraid I will be spreading myself too thin.
