So glad you rescued the kitties and helped rid them of their fleas. I was amazed by the solution but impressed by the sense of it!

@secondchances: I would just put them on advantage. Seriously, its technically safe to use at 6 weeks of age and it kills the larvae, eggs, and adults. Also its very safe if you apply it correctly and overdosing is very difficult to do. If they are too young for advantage I would just use dawn dish soap and flea comb them like crazy.

so amazing that you rescued these little guys.  We rescued our cat from the street when he was 3 weeks old. He was also crawling with fleas and too young for any flea treatment.  We just washed him in dawn dish soap and it took care of all the fleas.  no mayo or 8 hours of marinating needed.  FI got in the tub with some warm watter and held the little guy on his lap.  I lathered him up in the soap which started killing some of the fleas.  The ones that made a run for it, I plucked off of him and stuck on a lint roller so they couldn’t get away.  took about an hour.

** sorry I didnt see that you took them to a primary RDVM. This person must be pretty bad if they couldnt suggest the simplest of treatments.

Also be on the lookout for tapeworms. They are transmitted by flea eggs and are transmittable to humans. Have that little girl in the picture make sure she washes her hands very well after touching/dont let her sleep with them (if she is adopting one of the kitties).

@secondchances:  you must have had some super fleas on those poor little kitties!  The mental image of 4 kitties covered in mayo is sort of hilarious.  But seriuosly, you did such an amazing thing for these little guys.  I’m glad to hear they all have homes now.
