My parents along with my fiancé’s parents are throwing an engagement party for us August 4th. It’s basically a backyard BBQ. We will have a 20 foot canopy set up with tables and chairs underneath. We are decorating in black and white demask print with a few hints of pink. But my main question is what should I wear???.i’ve been told that I need to wear a dress because I am the bride to be. But we live in Texas where the weather is very unpredictable and very hot during this time of year.I just don’t want the dress sticking to my behind and making uncomfortable. Help me please!!.(:

Look for a lightweight, cotton dress. Since it’s a BBQ, a cute sundress would be appropriate. You don’t have to wear a dress. Maybe a pair of dressy shorts and an embellished tank top. This is just an example:
Look at JCPenney or Dress Barn for relatively inexpensive, casual dresses.

Or, go long with a maxi dress. Wear a pair of pettipants underneath for no chafing if that might be an issue.
There are lots of great maxi dresses out there. you will look put together, cool and comfortable.
