I am in tears, shock and panic! I am currently without a wedding dress after alterations did such a horrible job on my dress (VW351027), size 0. The alterations dept at store 0307 is a disaster. On my 4th visit to alterations, it was deemed that the dress was in a state of disrepair (jagged and uneven hem, uneven side bodice seams, etc). I leave in 11 days for my destination wedding. It is essential that I have a dress altered and in my hands by May 3. No posts or email can express my horror and fear!
The store placed an order for a different dress on April 22 since my original dress can not be replaced. The store does not know if shipping can be expidited. I have been told that the decision is now in the hands of the regional manager. I have not heard from her. The date is now April 24.
I also tweeted and posted on the DB’s Facebook page. 11 hours later, I received communication via Twitter and Facebook that someone in corporate would like to speak to me. They provided an email address and requested my phone number. I am waiting for a call…

I will keep you posted with status updates. The store is without an alterations manager. A woman from a different store was helping the manhattan store during one of my trips to alterations; she said that the manager at her store would never allow hems to be altered the way they currently do them in Manhattan. She said that hems should be pinned while worn, steamed and cut while hanging. In Manhattan, they are cutting unsteamed dresses worn by the bride while sitting on the floor.
My dress bodice was so tight that they had great difficulty zipping it. I started getting light headed because they made it so tight. You could see the stays through the fabric on the back.

O my goodness, I’m so sorry. My gut says that with a chain as large as David’s Bridal they will make it right for you, but my gut sure doesn’t help ease your panic. Great job tweeting and posting about it – that’s often one of the fastest and best ways to get customer service to respond.
Keep us updated!
