I feel compelled to post a “warning” post about someone who is in wedding related businesses to prevent someone else from being “taken”.
The person is <full name removed by admin>. She used to have an Etsy shop called “It’s All Taking Shape” but it is currently closed. She is from <location removed by admin>. She is also starting a photography business and uses the name “<first and last name removed by admin> Studios” and her sculpture business is still up as far as I can tell (just not on Etsy) as “addison rose” studios.
To make a long story short, I have patiently waited for this woman to make my custom cake topper since September 2010! I paid her in full up front (dumb, I know) and used my PayPal funds (no CC) so I cannot get money back via PayPal. She has strung me along repeatedly with promises of completion.
Now, it seems, she is outright ignoring me and removed me from her Facebook friend’s list. After she requested that I email her through gmail or whatever and she did not answer me, and did not answer my Etsy convo, or my Facebook email, I posted on her wall a message that said “Please get in touch with me; I have tried contacting you through other avenues with no luck” and I think that pissed her off so she took me off her friend list completely!
I have opened a complaint with Etsy but I doubt it will do much. I just want others to be aware. She basically STOLE my money and she knows it and I am so disgusted! And in the mean time she has started up a new business (photography), so she’s not short on time or money apparently.
Her closed Etsy shop (that bad feedback was NOT there when I bought my topper!):
Her facebook photography studio page (my SIL and I kind of spammed it):

Just be careful, no matter how much talent someone has (and she IS talented), you just can’t trust everyone I suppose.

I remember your other thread about this, if that was you. You seem WAY more pissed today. What happened?

That sucks! (Her FB page is funny.) I think it’s the best thing to do to put pressure on them. Hell, I don’t even know you and I want to post, “Give her the cake toppers!” on her wall. You still might be able to file a claim with paypal. I’ve heard of them doing so after the 45 day window if the goods were never received.

@deliciousappleblue: Basically I tried emailin her. She’d told me when she last actually contacted me that email was best, (vs. Facebook) if I wanted to get in touch, so, I’m still trying to be calm and I email her as requested (few days ago).. no response.
So I send an Etsy convo, no response. So I send a Facebook message. Nothing.
Meanwhile, we are “friends” on Facebook and I see her posting all the damn time so I know she has gotten online. And more infuriating, I guess, is that she’s actively promoting her new photography business and talking about new equipment her husband bought her and so forth, and complaining about people “stealing” her photos.
So I post on her Facebook wall (where others can see it) but I don’t air it all out, I simply say “Hey, not able to get in touch via email, PLEASE get in touch”.
And in response, she removes me from her friend’s list!!!
So yeah I am way more pissed.

@Miss Tattoo: I emailed PayPal to request it, still waiting on them to answer me though. My SIL is messaging everyone on her friends list!! LOL
After her last empty promise I told her to just please send me my money. I tried to appeal to her onscience and talk to her “mommy to mommy” since we both have kids and both have limited incomes (she is a Stay-At-Home Mom, we have chatted a lot in the past aside from the sculpture details), explained to her how the topper was a “splurge” and I didn’t have the moeny to lose and if she was a good person, which I believed her to be, she’d just refund me. No luck!

@MsInterpret: So it was the facebook thing. That sucks, dude. I wonder why she’s being like that – you’d think she’d just send you the money at least to save herself from getting anymore angry emails, right? :S Good luck, hun.

@deliciousappleblue: Yep. It’s “only” 60 bucks. She has now deleted the comments I left on her photography page and “unliked” my “like” of her page (so I can’t post more, but I could just “like” it again).
It’s infuriating. I get especially mad because I used to make my living online. Not etsy but Ebay, selling vintage clothing. And yep, sometimes shit happens and you don’t get something mailed, or you have a disaster (had coffee spill all over an item I was about to mail out once), I even LOST an item once (to make more sense of that, it was a pair of stockings, very small package)…
And it sucked but when I screwed up I offered partial or full refunds to make it right, without the customer having to ask, even though my business was the kind where most of my customers were not going to be repeat customers so it didn’t “matter” in that regard… I did it because it was the right thing to do, even if it was painful to the pocketbook. Heck, I was known to refund shipping if I mailed out a couple days late!
I expect too much from people!

I just went through this with this “<full name removed by admin>”!!! I ordered 130 custom made lovebird holders as wedding favors and she kept promising that they were finished & would ship them out. I spent almost $300 on these and I’m SO UPSET!! I paid in a few different transactions…Im going everywhere possible to let anyone & everyone know DO NOT DO BUSINESS with anything associated with an <full name removed by admin>.

Gigi, did you ever get your money?
I am curious as to why her name is removed, when she uses her name in her business, and publically?
