Not sure if anyone has posted about this yet, but effective May 31st, postage is increasing. Now obviously this doesn’t affect you if you have forever stamps, but those of you like me whose invitations weigh more than an ounce, the postage is going up 1 cent. So now my beautiful vintage tulip 70 cent stamps would need an ugly penguin 1 cent to accompany them on my envelope because I am an early worm and bought all my stamps already and put them on all the envelopes. I’m not worried about the price increase, because it would only cost me $1.05 extra, BUT I don’t want a penguin stamp on my invites SO I will be mailing them Friday for my semi-destination September wedding. Hopefully this doesn’t bite me in the ass with people forgetting to RSVP but oh well.
So just a heads up to the Bee’s who already bought stamps!!

I didn’t even think of this as an opportunity to buy cheaper forever stamps.. I was more on the glass half empty approach. Thanks bees 🙂

I should have bought more of the pretty seed packet stamps! Damn!
Wedding invites get songbirds I guess. #stampproblems
Should I buy them for thank you notes now too? Oy.

FYI The standard first class postage is not increasing, but metered mail, additional ounces, postcards, etc. are.

Omg thank you so much for posting this! Fiance and I bought personalized stamps from zazzle to use on our save the date postcards, and they are all for the old rate. I told him he needs to give me his list of names & addresses ASAP so we can get them in the mail (mine are mostly done, yay).
