This is my warning to all Orlando brides, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT USE ZALES in Fashion Square Mall. Sorry this is a little long.
First of all we never would have used this particular store as I don’t care for this mall overall, but my fiance bought my ring there on a whim while ring shopping. The manager he dealt with no longer works there, but he gave him a good deal with a higher than what’s written diamond rating. The diamond is perfect to me, I really do love that part of my ring.
The service from the new manager to have it sized/adjusted after the initial purchase? Absolutely terrible!
My bad experience – my ring is too big, I asked them to size it down. They only do whole or half sizes and will not size it down 1/4 for me from 4.5 to 4.25 size. The setting of this ring is a 4 prong solitaire for princess cut, the prongs do not sit correctly and the diamond gets loose every few weeks after it has been in to their shop for tightening.
The in house jeweler has stated to my fiance in front of the manager, that this setting is defective yet they refuse to fix it or do anything for us and the store manager and one employee believe we should pay them $35 each time.
Lynn is the employee there and last time I went to pick up my ring she cut me off mid sentence as I was trying to say thank you while handing me the ring and proceeded to yell in my face about it being the last time they would help me.
I got home and cried because this is supposed to be a special and happy time for us. We wrote emails, we wrote on their “Love Stories” website, we wrote on their Facebook, we provided phone numbers all in explaining what is wrong with my ring and Zales corporate has refused to help us at all. Their admin writes a note in reply to our messages to save face saying they will help us at corporate but we still to this day have never received any returned phone calls and just get the option to record a message when we call.
I already asked if I could just exchange the setting, Zales won’t do that for me they wanted me at the time to return the entire ring including my diamond. I’m now at the point where I am writing them off, the entire company of Zales as a bad one and will never step foot in one ever again.
So, I need help bees. In need of a good, reliable jeweler in the Orlando area to help me get my ring fixed. I love my ring despite it’s issues and I baby it so I don’t lose the diamond as the setting is loose.
If anyone knows who I can go to I would really appreciate it. Otherwise I guess my options include buying a new setting and asking a jeweler to reset my existing diamond. I’d rather not go that route, I have a suspicion that my existing setting can be fixed and that Zales employees were just being rude and incompetent.
