I’m waiting to receive my boudoir photos that were taken last weekend, and I’m a little nervous about it. She showed me some of the images on the back of the camera, and they looked alright but I was honestly a little bit disappointed. I know I might feel differently after she has touched them up and once I see them full size…but I’m just curious if there are any bees out there that were bummed with the final product.

she showed me one peak too and i was like “oooh, yay!” but thinking.. “oh oh, do i look fat??” but i ended up looooving all mine and it was so hard to choose what i wanted in the book. i feel way less nervous for my wedding pics now. although we got our engagements done on sat and im so nervous to get them back because there were hurricane-like winds and we were shooting right on the hudson and i hope that the pics dont LOOK like i was dying with dirt blowing in my eyes!!
If you want to see my pics, PM me and i will give you the code.

This is going to sound silly, but what I’m most unhappy about with the images is my HAIR! Thankfully, my fiance probably won’t be paying much attention to that aspect of the photos =) I couldn’t afford both pro hair and makeup, so I went with makeup since I’m pretty clueless about that. I ended up running late that morning and didn’t have time to do much with it, and since I’m growing it out for the wedding, it just is kind of hanging there in the pictures. I’m sure he won’t notice, but I do wish I’d been able to achieve a bit more glamorous of a look, especially since I spent so much.

Oh I know what you mean about your hair! I didn’t do anything with mine and it’s a bit stringy in some pictures. She might do some retouching to make it look fuller though.

As a photographer, my advice would be to get on the phone and tell the photographer than you are worried about it *now*.
If someone tells me in advance then I can incorporate their concerns into my workflow – by retouching or cropping pictures to get round the problem as I go along. If I have to go back over the pictures a second time to make alterations it takes way more time, and that is likely to cost more money.

I loved MOST of mine, there were a few that I noticed the things I’m self-conscious about, but I was wow-ed by the work that the photographer did to make the pictures artsy – some of them I hardly recognized myself in! In a good way! And Fiance LOVED all of them, even the ones I didn’t like! We’re always more critical of ourselves!

Here’s a money saving tip that may solve someone’s hair money issues: I went in to get my hair cut with my normal hairstylist the morning of my boudoir photos. I asked her to tease it a but and blow it out. It was great because I didn’t spend any more money than I would for my regular hair cut.
I did go ahead and splurge on makeup. I don’t get to see my boudoir photos until July. I think I may die waiting 🙂
