Nope, lol.  I can’t even remember officially asking.. We were discussing what they were gonna wear before I even remembered I was supposed to “ask”

Haha I had to ask my sister and Future Sister-In-Law (brother’s GF) over the phone, which felt awkward from the start. So I just made sure I was a good hour or two into a night of drinking before I called. I think they enjoyed it, because everyone loves a good drunk dial from PinkFlemingo, especially when it’s for such a pleasant reason! Tongue Out

I was a little! I had to do everyone over the phone since we are all spreadout all over and I wasn’t really sure how to get the conversation started ๐Ÿ™‚ But it all turned out well in the end.

I was only nervous about one of them.  The others I had spoken to before we got engaged in a kinda jokey way like “We went ring shopping…. I hope you’ll be a bridesmaid!” but since we weren’t actually engaged yet, I didn’t feel the pressure.  My Maid/Matron of Honor is my only sister, and we’re quite close, so that’s been a given my whole life.  The one I was nervous about is a woman I’ve known for 25 years and I knew she’d say yes, but I was nervous because we don’t keep in touch that regularly, so she didn’t have any notice that the engagement was coming.  When I asked her and said we were planning a fall wedding she said “Yes, of course.  But please don’t get married on my birthday like B.”  One of our other friends from high school had JUST gotten married on this friend’s birthday, and B was a major bridezilla and made the friend go to all kinds of events for an entire week, so she never got to celebrate her birthday at all.  Needless to say, we didn’t pick her birthday ๐Ÿ™‚

I was with 1 but it was an awkaward situation, i had already asked my other girls and then her and I had a dinner date and I was planning on asking her there bc i know shes had some recent financial concerns so I wanted to explain that if it was a burden I understood and one of my other bridesmaids showed up at the same restaurant, decided to sit with us and midway thru the meal was like dont you have to ask her something

I was a little nervous about each one of them.  It’s not that I thought they would say no… I just felt weird asking.

I was nervous too. Which is so silly…because these gals are all my closest friends and one is my cousin that I’ve always been close to.

I may have had it out for myself though because I got inspired from WB and made really cute Will You Be My Bridesmaid or Best Man, Maid/Matron of Honor cards for them all and gave them to each girl individually over 2 weeks time. Two girls live in my city but the other 2 are about an hour away. So I think I would’ve been more disappointed if someone had said no! Haha.

Funniest moment: Fiance and I took Maid/Matron of Honor (before I asked her) out for a coffee and presented her with the card there…she looked stunned for a couple minutes and I got REALLY nervous. Turns out she was trying to think of what she would say in her speech at the reception already! But of course she accepted after she realized we were staring at her because the card asked a question, lol.

I don’t think I ever asked them (opps..).  I only have two BMs though, my sister and good friend (I was in her wedding).  My Fiance didn’t ask his Groomsmen either, he just said, guess what!  You’re going to be in a wedding!
