I think Kate looked beautiful, but I wasn’t really that impressed by her dress….I just feel like it didn’t have the “wow” factor.

I though she looked stunning and the dress was perfect for her.  She doesn’t seem like the flashy type. It was classic and simply. Beautiful!

I thought it was beautiful and fitting for a Royal Wedding- with the world watching.  It was reported that she wanted her dress to be classic and not “trendy” for the time; thus when she looked back on it she wouldn’t cringe and think it was “too” 2011.

@MrsNeutrino said, because my expection was it was going to set the new hotness trend, because the media has been pushing it for months. So I thought there’d be a frenzy similar to what happened with Carolyn Bessette’s dress which went against the grain of what was popular and introduced a fresh take on bridal styles.  However, I also agree with

@KatyElle points as well. Kate didn’t owe “us” anything, because its her wedding (steeped in tradition) so ultimately it was exactly what it needed to be.

@Snizzlebigs:  I had no idea Pippa was really Philippa.  I thought Kate’s sister had the weirdest name for the longest time.

@Ahone: Stateside it tends to get mixed reactions…  But I’ve loved the name (and nickname) since I was a child, so it had been set for many years by the time she was born (I did have a back-up in case she didn’t “look” like a Philippa).  Actually, my Pippa looks a lot like Duchess Kate & Pippa Middleton — she could be their little (13-year-old) sister!  — Yes. I had her at 23; I’m old!

I think she looked stunning! She chose the dress that made her feel like a princess and one that is timeless.

Had she dressed Haut Couture there would have been a lot of negative coments from the royal family. This dress was perfect!
