@Kat:  It’s the Lazaro 3108.  It comes in Sherbet, which is the color it’s pictured in, white, and ivory.  It’s been on SYTTD a few times, and I cry every time I see a bride put it on and fall in love with it… it’s like I’m falling in love with it all over again!

I dreamed of this one for the longest time, It’s J Crew Noelle:

Here is my dress. A lot more ornamented and quite a bit less covered up!

I definitely can’t say I ever dreamed of a specific dress, but more of a feel…I’ve said for years if I ever married it would be a barefoot on the beach simple thing.  In searching for dress types, I found this old Marchesa (yes that’s Lindsey Lohan, circa 2006):

Besides being a gob-zillion dollars, I’m also large busted and short waisted, and relatively newly plus-sized.  Translated, even if I were rich,I don’t think that would quite work.

My actual dress (And, only $500)…Mori Lee:

And, it certainly doesn’t look like that on me, but I’m happy with it (here, in the sample 5 sizes too small….)

My Dress was definitely MY cream dress. I STILL get giddy looking at pics, even though the wedding was on Saturday. I just loved the way it flowed and fit my figure. Everyone kept asking me how much weight I lost for the wedding and the answer was NADA:)

I just looked through all of the pics I have so far and none are great of the dress. So I will have to post one later when I get pics from the photographer.

What I ended up with (it’s a bit too big in the waist so it looks like I don’t have much of a shape):

hmm…I didn’t really have an idea in mind or a dream dress.  I thought I would choose something very simple and not strapless.  My dress was strapless with pouf and character!

I got the dress I always dreamed of except for 1 thing… the dress I chose didn’t have as full a skirt as I always wanted. I always wanted a really big poofy skirt and mine ended up being a full A line… but you gotta give somewhere!

This is the VOLUME I always wanted:

But I wanted it to look exactly like this + a poofier skirt (my wedding photo), but you can’t have it all sometimes:

My dress is not even remotely what I dreamed it would be. I tried on this Lazaro that I was so set was going to be my wedding dress. It was poofy, beaded (with swavorski crystals), and just a true Princess dress. However, when I put it on I didn’t get the feeling a bride should.

I looked at myself in the mirror, and just wasn’t happy at all. The consultant thought I was crazy, but this wasn’t the feeling I wanted. A few months later I came back to the salon with FI’s aunt and cousin, and wanted to try something totally different. The consultant put me in a few mermaid dresses (which I swore I would NEVER get) and went through a few before she put me into the dress I knew I would walk down the aisle in.

For the longest time I was IN LOVE with the Alfred Angelo Style 2251.

I thought for sure this was going to be my dress. And then I went a tried it on … and, while it was pretty, the bodice was just SO STIFF. It felt like I was wearing a lobster shell! The dress wanted me to be it’s shape, as opposed to it being my shape. My whole family loved it, but I just couldn’t envision myself wearing something so hard and uncomfortable.

I went out on a whim to try on more dresses. I bought a dress just a couple of months after my engagement for cheap … I wasn’t in love, but I didn’t plan on being a dress regret bride. That is, until I tried on Allure P952.

It is BEAUTIFUL. Soft, feather-light and the straps, lace and shape I’ve always wanted. Plus, the dress has no built in shape — it just a charmeuse slip with a lace overlay. It just drapes and falls, doesn’t pinch or restrict at all. I love it!

And here’s me in it showing the back, because you all clearly need to see my dress some more:

this is the dress I drooled over forever, but never tried on…

this is the dress that I bought on a whim because I knew I couldn’t afford the above, OR a lace mermaid which I thought I wanted (the salon where I bought this only had ONE lace mermaid in my price range…should have been my first sign to walk because I ended up with dress regret)…

and this is the one I am actually wearing…a ball gown, def spoke to my little girl dreams, originally felt I was too old, but once i saw it in the bag and put it on that went right out the window lol
