(Closed) Was there anyone else who wasn’t ever “waiting” for a proposal?

I’m technically waiting (I didn’t know that was the word for what we are doing until I came here) but I have been surprised after I came here how many kinds of waiting there are – and that it could ever be a bad thing. SO gave me the go ahead to start poking around to see what we’d like in a ring, venue, whatever, so I found the bee and have really enjoyed it.

My SO and I have a rough date of when we want to get married, TTC, everything. We are waiting for

1. Visa issues to resolve and

2. For me to meet his parents (they are from Ireland)

The visa issues should be resolved shortly but his parents, I won’t meet till the middle of next year. He just wants me to have met them once so that when he calls with the news that we are engaged, they’ll know something about me. He asked me if that was ok and if I thought that was reasonable, and I said of course.

My “waiting” if you want to call it that has been so lovely. It always makes me really sad when people are waiting because their SO doesn’t want to discuss it or… whatever. The variations are really interesting.
