well my Fiance and I both like the name Isabella (we liked it before Twilight) and I want to use Jane as a middle name cos Isabella Jane would flow well and Jane Austen is my favourite author 🙂 James Mark would be the boy, James is my dad’s name, Mark is my FI’s dad’s name 🙂

My little girls are named Emma and Elizabeth.

They are classic names and I didn’t realize how popular they were at the time. Plus the fact they are the only names Fi and I could agree on!

BUT Emma does have my middle name and Elizabeth has a “Family” last name!

I don’t have kids, but I know that my fiancé’s kids were picked because they liked them and not because they had any particular significance. My name and my brother’s name were chosen for the same reason. Our middle names, though, are our parents’ first names (Erin Anne, Cory Robert) and my mom’s name is her mom’s middle name and my dad’s middle name is his dad’s name. I have always liked the idea of choosing a name based on what the couple likes and using something of the parents’ names as the middle.

My middle name is my great grandma’s name so I will be using it for my daughter’s middle name. I will be using FI’s first name for our son’s middle name.

No kids yet, but I’m planning on a mixture of names that I like, have meaning for me and fiance, or naming them after someone. For example, our favourite names for boys are “Adam Lewis” (Adam is a name that I love, Lewis is my dad’s name), or “Neil Tyson” (after Neil deGrasse Tyson, of course! Because fiance and I are really into astrophysics and love his work). If we have a girl, she will be named “Lily” – it’s a family name and my great aunt of that name practically raised my dad and was a surrogate grandparent for us when we were young, so it’s very special to me.

I originally wanted to name our Dear Daughter after FI’s brother, but Fiance was against it. Her name is just something we both liked.

Me and all of my siblings were named based simply off names our parents liked.

Darling Husband and I plan to do the same for our kids.
