My husband didn’t have a ring when he proposed but did pay in full when he purchased my ring.

We bought the engagement ring and wedding bands all in one swoop. The store offered no interest if you opened up their charge card for the first year (and paid minimums). We figure this gives us some wiggle room, but it should be paid off in a month or so.

I told my husband under no circumstances was I OK with him buying a ring he couldn’t afford to pay for in full upfront–I didn’t think it was necessary to carry any kind of debt for a piece of jewelry.

Paid for in full w/ cash. He saved up little by little for months to buy my rings.

I would never have accepted a ring he had to finance!
