Mine is all paid for. Fiance (and I felt the same, although ultimately it was his decision) did not think it was smart to go into debt over a piece of jewelry so he saved up and purchased something that fit his budget.

DH is an accountant and has a thing about keeping a certain amount in his checking and savings accounts. So he had the money to pay for my ring, but chose to finance it so that he didn’t have to see all that money go from his account at once. He paid it off well before the no interest financing was up. It didn’t bother me because I knew he wasn’t spending more than he could afford and it was something HE was comfortable with.

My fiance worked very hard to save up the money to pay up front for my ring and I’m very proud of him for that.  Laughing

We waited for a lump sum that DH was waiting for and when he got it, we called our diamond guy told him total cost we were looking at and he got what we needed. paid in full =D

It was mostly paid for, Fiance put a bit on his line of credit but it was paid off a few weeks after we got engaged.

Fiance told me that there is a lot of poker money in my ring 🙂

He was diligent in saving $$ over several months to get the ring I had picked out…with his blessing, of course!

My fiance paid for my ring in full when he bought it. I’m not privvy to much of the details, but I know that he paid for it the way he makes all major purchases, by setting a savings goal and sticking to it.

My ring was paid in full, but I would have been okay with financing some IF a) it was paid off before we got married b)there wasn’t a crazy amount of interest being paid and c) there was a good reason to get the ring then instead of waiting (like the pp example of wanting to keep money in certain places)

It isn’t  all paid for, but he could if he wanted. He just doesn’t…go figure.

Nope – but that’s only because we got engaged without a ring. We picked out and bought the ring two months later.

My ring didn’t exist when we got engaged, but when we decided to go the custom route, DH got the quote and budgeted accordingly for the next several months, and he was able to pay the ring off in full when it was ready.

I wouldn’t have really cared if it wasn’t paid off before he proposed, but I found he started saving for the ring basically right after our first date 🙂  We got engaged about a year and half later so he was all saved up for it.  But it still makes me smile to think how soon he started saving!
