My sister is throwing us a couple shower on Saturday September 7th (the only date available on a Saturday) the wedding is October 12th. Is that cutting it close? I don’t want people to have to worry about gifts/money.
Should we switch to a Sunday date?

@peachbaby4008: I think you’re fine! Mine is going to be September 14th and my wedding is October 19th..

No. My wedding was originally going to be Nov 24, 2012. The shower was Oct. 13, 2012. We changed the wedding date in Sept to April but the shower host already had everything together for the shower so we went ahead and had the shower in Oct.

My shower is September 14th and we have the same wedding date. It was literally the ONLY date that my 3 bridesmaids were available at the same time. Come to find out, now my Maid/Matron of Honor can’t stay because her FI’s brother is getting married that day…in another state. Oh, well. I ain’t changing it! Lol

@peachbaby4008: Nope that should be just fine! In fact, that’s a GREAT day to have a shower 😉 Our shower will be just over a month before our wedding!

@peachbaby4008: I don’t think so… My shower is going to be 9/14 (also the only date we all had available.) Just a little extra work to get the thank you notes out before the wedding date but otherwise, I think it’s fine. 🙂 Good luck!

We’re getting married July 20th, and are having a “family” shower this weekend (3 weeks ahead of time). I pushed for an earlier date, but hey, that’s what his family decided. I’m just along for the ride, haha.

My shower is in 2 weeks, July 13th. A hair over 3 months before the wedding. I didn’t choose the date, I just said that it worked for me. I don’t think there are really any rules with regards to when the shower is in relation to the wedding. A friend of a friend had her shower in May, but the wedding isn’t til November.

I think you’re just fine. My bridal shower will be a week before my wedding (initially it was going to be just three DAYS before the wedding). Not ideal, but the majority of my family lives in another province – and that is where the wedding will be too, so I am just flying out early and having the shower then.

Lol my shower will be the day before the wedding. It’s the only time everyone will be in town.

I think that’s fine. I got married July 9, and my shower was June 12.

My shower was almost two months before the wedding – the women planning it had plans the month before my wedding, so that was the only day. It was okay though, as I didn’t really want a shower anyways.
