Our dryer is slowly dying and the washer isn’t in great shape either. We have started looking at new ones but there are soooo many choices I just have no idea. We want Energy Star and front loaders.
Any suggestions? Where did you buy from?

I have front load LG’s with steam. I love them so much. I bought them at a local store which is now closed, but Best Buy and Sears carry them too. I love it because the steam makes it so you never have to iron anything ever again!

I would never get a front loader washer again and everyone I know feels the same way. They have a huge problem with mildew. We have tried everything but it almost always has a musty smell.

We follow all of the tips in this article every time and still have a problem. And we have a very pricey LG set.

We have the LG front loaders and LOVE them.
We do leave the washer door open when it’s not running so the water doesn’t mildew inside, and that seems to fix any mold smell…My mum has the same set, and she runs a cloth along the gasket after each wash, to dry that out a bit and make it even more smell-proof, but I’m lazy and it seems to still be just fine.

@BunnyBrideToBe: We do the same with our washer and don’t seem to have any issues either.
I think you have to make sure you’re in a well ventillated area in order to not have much of the mildew issue. We have LG front load washer/dryer, and we’ve had them for almost 3 years. They’re fantastic and by far my most favorite appliance in the house! We just leave the door of the washer open after we’re done using it so that it dries properly, and we also do an Affresh cycle once every 2 months.
