And my god, is it horrifying.
What scares me is that I know I’ll be a bundle of nerves and I have loving friends and family who would let me know if I was being a BZ – but what seperates a stressed out bride from a Bridezilla?

No worries. A lot of that show is staged/exaggerated. The producers promise the brides money, but only if the footage airs. So, the brides go all out to make sure that their footage airs. Or such is my understanding… 😉 Entertaining though!

Well, my mom called me a bridezilla after I asked her nicely to cut the guest list b/c we didn’t have enough room at the venue (which she knew and agreed to before we signed the contract) for all of her friends.

@artbee: Oh wow lol yeah you were totally in the wrong for asking that.

One of the videographers I spoke with proudly told me he had filmed an episode of Bridezillas. He said that he knew the bride beforehand, and she told him she was doing the show to raise money for her wedding. He agreed to do it because she promised him she would only fight with family, not with vendors.
I thought it was an interesting story, but it didn’t really make me want to hire him for my wedding!

Ugh… that show. So many bad things to say, but I’ll hold my tongue… 🙂 I do watch it when I have a bit of free time – it’s a guilty pleasure.

@Badass Bride: IMO a wedding planner!
While watching it last week now that I am engaged and involved in the planning process I thought to myself, “I could easily see myself in that position if it weren’t for [my wedding planner].”
While I wouldn’t be driven to violence or law breaking I probably would scream, shout and act a fool at some point should my nerves become raw enough. I admit it.

See, thats the thing. Before I used to watch the show and think all the girls were just horrible but in the planning myself and I think “I can see why she’s upset”I don’t agree in how some put out their emotions but I can understand WHY

Makes me want to throw some punches!! But it has to be somewhat of an act or no one on the planet would want to be near you! Some girls are worse than others on that show, so it might be real for them.

Years ago, that show was actually kind of entertaining. I feel like now it has just gotten so trashy and filled with horrific people. I watch wedding shows all the time but I absolutely can’t stand that one. I think all brides have their BZ moments and rightfully so but there’s no excuse for the behavior on that show. I wouldn’t worry too much, you are obviously expressing concern and therefore you care which is more than I can say for those BZ show girls!

HAHAHAHAA! I used to watch this show often enough, but seeing these women actually stress me out now. But I will never forget this person. (Clip of bride smashing cake) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iserIaPGwuo

I found out a girl I knew in high school who got married in April who had the film crew at her wedding. I can not wait to watch. She was a little crazy in high school (like I think she may have been mental ill) and I don’t think it has gotten better.

Don’t even get me started, I lost 2 days of my life to a Bridezillas marathon when I was sick, and still haven’t gotten over the emotional distress.

the show is beyond trashy….but kinda like a a train wreck! you hate to watch but you cant help but do so!! I dont think there is a such thing as a bridezilla in real life….we all get a little stressed out during our wedding planning and wedding day.
