Has anyone out there used water candle for their center-pieces? They are disks with a wick and you place them in water with cooking-oil.. there less expensive than wax candles, and look pretty cool. Let me know how they worked for you. THANKS in advice BEES

I’ve seen them used before, but haven’t used them myself. You have to place a layer of vegetable oil (canola, olive, etc) on the water’s surface. I saw olive oil used, I wonder if other oils would have a smell but I didn’t notice one. It’s very pretty and unique! It lasted for hours too. They had stones with flowers on the bottom, so at first glance it looked almost like a crystal clear candle with that inside it. (I wish I had a pic for you!) Guess you’d have to be careful nothing would float up into the oil though! I think the trick is cutting the right wick length and using the right amount of oil, this would def require some experimenting beforehand… I don’t know if this helped at all, but if you decide to use them, please post pics! Good luck!
