If you add a small splash of fruit juice to the water sometimes it makes it a little easier to boost your intake– just to give it a bit of flavor.

I am a big fan of squirting a little lemon in my water, it makes it interesting enough for me to enjoy drinking it at that point.

I add either cut up strawberries, fresh raspberries, or lemon juice to my water to flavor it naturally. It really helps me drink enough water. (not pregnant, but gave up juice when I joined weight watchers so this really helped me drink water instead). Maybe that will help?

That’s what I did! I had a 32oz bottle and I made sure I drank 2 of them a day. It made the water drinking much more manageable.

@Krises:  Mms that sounds really good with the strawberries! I am going to try that.

I have been struggling because although I’m super thirsty in pregnancy water is weirdly also making me feel sick? 🙁 So I’ve been mixing a little fruit juice with water which seems to go down much better, or having fresh limes or lemons in it.

Also very yummy to make a pitcher of water with a couple of pineapple slices sit overnight to keep in your water bottle the next day.

I wouldn’t get too hung up on the actual quantity, just always keep a bottle of water around and remember to drink throughout the day.

I can’t get enough of water, so thats not an issue for me.

The issue I have is not eating my eggs runny or my steak cooked any more then Medium. Sorry, I just prefer my steak and eggs that way.

I find having a water bottle that you like really helps. It’s sort of dumb, but I was having a hard time drinking enough water out of the metal eco friendly kind, but when I switched to a (BPA Free) plastic, iced coffee type cup with a straw, I drink way more. I just prefer to drink with a straw. So if you prefer drinking froma straw, from a real glass, whatever, do it.

@MamaHusky3:  I even drink more out of a Fiji bottle than Poland Springs or any other brand!

I have the opposite problem since the 1st trimester. I can’t get enough water. I’m thirsty most of the time! I drink and drink and drink and I’m still thirsty! Which means a thousand more bathroom visits. Vicious cycle. lol

I agree with those that said to sweeten the water with some fruit juice! I bet that would be yummy.

@MamaHusky3: Ooh interesting, glad it’s not just me, yes it’s worse on an empty stomach for me too, also generally for the nausea. I am constantly nibbling away lol – not good for my waistline 😉

@Cady: I miss soft-boiled eggs too.

I am not a huge water drinker by any means, but my doctor had kind of difference advice for me.  I pay more attention to my…pee.  I know I have to drink more when my urine gets darker.  As long as it’s really light, you’re hydrated!  I wouldn’t worry so much about the actual amount.
