My recommendation is dont wear mascara when you ara going swimming. Especially if your eyes are sensitive.

I used the waterproof L’Oreal million lashes mascara while I was in Mexico a few weeks ago. I would only put on a very thin coat if I knew I would be getting in the water. The only time it smeared was when I had an issue with my contacts while in the water. I ended up rubbing my eyes a lot, and that caused the mascara to smear, but that wasn’t really the fault of the mascara. It worked great every other time.

I’ve worn Maybelline’s Waterproof version of The Rocket mascara in a pool before… and it stayed on fine through being splashed and such. But if you actually plan on swimming, under water, I wouldn’t wear any.

Get your eyelashes tinted. Costs about the same as mascara and there’s zero chance of raccoon eyes

I have sensitive eyes/hate waterproof mascara, but this is the only one I’ll use! I wore it to an all day intense work out thingy, went swimming, cried a little 😔 and rubbed at my eyes and it didn’t smudge!

ohbride14:  I’ve tried so many, and they pretty much can only withstand your face being dunked in the water for like one second, but not actual swimming.  I’d recommend getting lashes tinted. or if that’s not dramatic enough, then get lash extensions.

I’ve also tried a bunch of waterproof eyeliners (ones that got rave reviews for swimming), and none of them held up for me either. but a friend swears by Mac Fluid Line. I haven’t tried it yet, but thought I’d pass it along.

I went swimming in Mexico – both pool and ocean with my regular mascara on. Zero issues. I don’t wear water proof mascara because, everytime I do, my lashes fall out or break.

I swim in the Ocean and pools several times a week and I am a mascara fanatic. The best one I’ve found, that doesn’t wind up under my eyes, is lights, camera, splashes by tarte. I use the Clinique take the day off makeup remover and it takes it off.

I have some waterproof Dior mascara, so far it’s been rainproof, swimming proof, and hot tub proof!
