So I’m in a major dilemma regarding how to style my Austin dress. Currently, this is the necklace I’m hoping for (see below), but haven’t seen it with the dress yet. I love, love big chunky necklaces, this one is by Kate Spade. I’ve also considered a simple strand of pearls or no necklace with great earrings…possibly a drop crystal and pearl combo. What does everyone think? If you are wearing the Austin what are you wearing with it? Thanks!

Not sure why the necklace pic didn’t show…here it is.

I’m wearing the same dress for my November wedding. I’ll be wearing these Nadri earings which are beautiful and sparkly in person. They came from Nordstrom. I’ll also be wearing a bracelet which I haven’t bought yet… I’m thinking i’ll get something Nadri though. They have a lot of really beautiful bracelets in all shapes and sizes. Before buying the earings, I considered wearing my pearl necklace, but I really like the look of the dress without a necklace. Hope this helps! Let us know what you decide on 🙂

@mekenefake: I love the necklace!!! Go for it!

@mekenefake: That would be so pretty together … just wear stud earrings with the ensemble and stay away from the statement earrings.

That necklace needs nothing more than studs – anything else would likely be soo much.

@mekenefake: I’m in the same dilemna about how to accesorize this dress as well. I’m wearing the Austin dress in a garden wedding in October. The necklace is gorgeous, but my gut says that it’s too much texture. The dress and flower sash is so flowy and textural, I think the necklace would just overwhelm you. I’m exploring a rhinestone necklace for a little sparkle, a drop necklace, or a vintage green glass & marcasite necklace. I like the idea of sparkle, whether a necklace, bracelet, hairpiece, etc, since the dress is so matte. The neckline is so flattering, maybe a necklace isn’t even needed?! Let us know what you decide. I’ll post pics if I find anything!

That necklace is absolutely amazing! I would definitely wear that with your Austin dress. You only get to do this once and I think you should go for it!

For some reason the uniformity of the pearls and the shape of the necklace just don’t seem to go with the Austin to me. I’m imagining something a little more whimsical like this:

i like the string of pearls idea 🙂

I didn’t realize there were so many comments on this thread, thanks for all your feedback. I’ve decided to stick with the necklace. I put them together and it just looks so “me”. I’ve also chosen to do pearl studs, but I’m struggling with the bracelet. So far, I’ve purchased a simple rhinestone bangle. Any other thoughts?
@BethOrganic: For me, the dress was too plain without some significant jewelry. i didn’t like the idea of switching out the sash for something with bling and a simple strand of pearls wasn’t cutting it if I am true to my style. I also toyed with the idea of a “colored” necklace. Kate Spade has been my go to for accessories and she has a beautiful green and blue statement necklace currently. Check it out.
@linguo42: That necklace is gorg! If I hadn’t already decided, that is a beautiful option. Where is it from? I love statement necklaces!
Here is a photo (crappy phone photo) with me in the dress and necklace. Also, I’m basically holding the dress on because it is too big! It’s currently at my seamstress. Thanks, ladies!

I’m hoping to wear any of these earrings:
Then I will be wearing my grandmothers old cross (which I believe is gold) and my other grandmothers ring:
I may wear a bracelet as well, but I really don’t want to over-do the jewelry.

That looks perfect! I plan to go the statement necklace route as well.
