@HZ: I did these, but I did them over a flame. I made about 130 of them and they look AWESOME and people have told me “this is the first time I’ve ever gotten a wax seal before!”

Hpw cool is that? Worth every minute!

I’m going to be attempting it!!! I’ll be doing it by flame, which I’ve tested out and seems to work great! Can’t wait to do them ALL.

I got our letter S at Michaels, although, the S looks like a few letters, and may be confusing, so I’m on the hunt for a more legible S. Some of the other letters Michaels had were very clear!

I used glue gun wax to make seals to seal our belly bands.  Then I hot glued the seals on.

Keeping an ice cold rag (to cool the seal off) and using baby oil on the seal really helped.  By making them and then gluing them, I could make sure I only used the “pretty ones.”

I bought the supplies from letterseals.com.  Came quickly and the descriptions were very accurate.

ETA:  I think a couple of the bees (Sewing?) had some tutorials that were very helpful.

My Fi did the wax seal. He used a lighter and melted the wax directly on top of the envelop. It seems he had a lot of fun and it turned out great!

 We got ours at Michaels

I’m seriously considering this for our invites. They’re fold-up seal-and-send invites that don’t involve and envelope, so maybe the peacock wax seal in sapphire blue will add even more ‘pop’ to them.

@HZ: Was that company easy to order through/deal with? That’s what I’m looking at as well. With around 150-200 invites, I’m going to be all over the glue gun wax if we go that route.

@iswimibikeirun: Thanks for those tips!

This may be a dumb question, but can you seal the outside envelope with the wax seal? We aren’t using an inside envelope and I reeealy want to do this, but I’m worried it will fall off in transit. Anyone done wax seals on the outside of the envelope?
