Usually you need to redo them every 4-6 weeks so you would probably be pretty close by the time the wedding comes around.

Make sure to take Advil before hand, it stings a bit for sure!

For me and my pale, sensitive skin, the redness stays for about 24 hours. Make sure to get some Tend Skin to prevent ingrown hairs! It’s not the cheapest thing, but it really, really works, and the last place you want ingrown hairs is on your honeymoon! 🙂

ETA: The redness only lasts for an hour or two for me, but the area is pink for about 24 hours.

My skin stays red for about a day, I actually had a wax on Friday and it was red and irritated until midday Saturday.

I have been thinking about getting waxed to see how I react to it also. I have really sensitive skin and coarse hair… if I shave my legs in the a.m. I can usually start feeling pricklies by 10p.m. It sucks and I can’t go in salt water if I just shaved or it really burns so… I am hoping a wax will work and last for the honeymoon but I am really worried about ingrown hairs… let me know how it goes! And, does anyone have any tips on how to find a good place to get waxed?? :/ I live in Jacksonville, FL if anyone knows of a place nearby. thanks.

I got a bikini wax a few days before my wedding and the waxer recommended using clearasil redness reducing pads once a day for at least a week and my redness went away after 1 day and I didn’t have any ingrowns

@soldiersgirl2010: I don’t know of another, cheaper version of Tend Skin, but I got mine on Ebay for cheaper. On Tend Skin’s website, they sell 4oz for $20, but on Ebay you can get it for under $10. Sally’s Beauty sells a product called Gigi’s No Bump Rx, too, that’s cheaper but I’m not sure if it’s exactly the same thing. On their website, 4oz is $9.

Apparently you can make your own, too (with witch hazel), but I’ve never done it.
