my sister works in a salon and i see hot young girls coming in all the time to get their upper lip done…no shame in that…I think the salon does a better job because they put some kind of powder on before to help with irritation, and their wax is set to an exact certain temp. for that kind of thing so they dont burn you or irritate you (think that might be what the bumps are from…wax that is too hot…)

@ejs4y8 – I just ordered the aveda product after your recommendation!  I was wondering, do you swipe that on right after you get home from your waxing?  Also, do you think that could be used for the underarms?  It is gross but lately I have been getting ingrown hair there after I shave.  I probably shouldn’t be this excited to get a new product but I think I am going to get my Fiance to try it too because his face breaks out after shaving sometimes.

I have an epillator that I use for my legs and facial hair: Emjoi Light Caress (http://www.emjoi.com/detail/EMJ+AP-10LR). Man do I LOVE that thing! It hurt on my legs the first couple times I used it, but now the hair grows in so fine it doesn’t hurt at all. I never had it hurt my face.

Pretty much identical to threading, but it uses 36 tweezers instead of rubber bands/threads. Oh and I am sure exfoliate for 3-4 days after epilating just to be sure I don’t get any ingrown hairs.

@clody, Don’t swipe it on after you get done waxing!!!!It’ll burn your skin if it’s freshly waxed b/c it has acidic properties.

RIGHT after waxing, use oils down there. Aveda has a Calming oil I like. It keeps the stickiness away, the chafing away (your underwear will rub on your freshly waxed skin and ow! Also don’t wear tight underwear–the creases will cause ingrowns where the leg bands are), and in general i feel like redness goes away faster.

You probably need a new razor under your arms. I only get those bumps when my razor isn’t super sharp, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work under your arms since I use it on my bikini and face.

But when you get out of the shower and it’s been like 3 days after waxing (no more redness/irritation–i had a wax Wednesday and I used the exfoliant Saturday), just swipe it on wherever you got waxed. I haven’t noticed it being irritating on sensitive areas.

I just love this exfoliator. It smells good and i like that it’s a liquid! And it has totally cleaned up my bikini area; makes me a happy camper for summer
