Depends if you have fine hair and not a lot of it go for threading it is much less painful but if you have ‘thicker’ upper lip hair then waxing is your best bet

Also you should keep Ice and aloe on hand the first time you get it done, make sure you get it done once like two three weeks before your wedding to make sure you dont get an allergic reaction to the wax or that your skin isn’t sensitive or something

I personally prefer threading. They remove each hair individually from the root, so I find that it lasts longer than waxing (the hair takes longer to come back). When you wax, some hairs can break or not be removed completely. However, threading is a decent amount more painful. When you wax, yes it hurts, but its one quick removal, then it’s over with. Threading removes each hair individually, so you will feel pain with each hair being removed. Also the process of threading definitely takes longer. Another thing to consider is that hair removal can make you break out, especially if your skin is not used to it.

brownie13: I prefer threading but it’s essentially the same thing. I will say though, I’m a makeup artists and if you decide to go with waxing…try to do it about a week before your wedding. Waxing removes skin and makeup doesn’t stick to freshly waxed areas. Seriously, whatever product is used just won’t stay in place. A few days before should be okay but I still always recommend any facial waxing to be done at least one week before the big day for my clients just to be safe. With threading, you don’t really have that problem (although I would still say threading should be done at least a day or two before to allow any possible swelling and redness to cease). If your skin is sensitive, I would suggest going with threading.

I prefer threading, I enjoy keeping my layers of healthy and alive skin.

I love threading, but be sure to do it before just to make sure you don’t break out. I always get a few little white heads and redness (I have very sensitive skin) so before the big day I will do it like 5 days before. It’s usually cleared up in a day or two but I want to make sure!

Please do it in advance so you can see if you react well to either. Threading and waxing both give me bumps for a coupe days! Also when waxing, if there are some left over, they usually will quick thread to take care of that so you might end up with both. Also, it hurts! Lol Just saying, prep yourself for that! I agree with ice and aloe. Good luck!!

I hate threading. It’s so awkward as their armpits end up in your face so they can get the angle to thread. I’ve even seen a lot of them put the string in their MOUTHS. Ew. It’s much less painful, for sure, but I want to look my best – I don’t care about pain. The results are different as well.

I have oily skin and waxing is great at reducing acne for me. I get my nose waxed every few weeks and 1-2 times/year I wax my entire face. If I had sensitive, dry or clear skin I’d probably thread.

I personally like threading.  I’ve had my brows done a few times and I love the results of it.  I will say the only drawbacks I can think of are that it can be a little more painful only because the process lasts longer, and this is probably a weird thing specific to me but the sound of the threading kind of weirds me out lol

I have waxed religiously for years and I recently switched to threading for my face (eyebrows and lip). Waxing can be damaging to the skin beyond just the initial inflammation.  I developed melasma from repeated waxing. Fortunately threading, although more painful in my opinion, is better for the skin.My dark spots are improving since I’ve stopped I’ve also had the unpleasant experience of having a skin tear and a burn from waxing. If you do wax make sure you find an experienced waxer. When I first started threading it did give me some minor breakouts. I still prefer waxing for body hair removal. Whatever you chose I would definitely do a trial to see how your skin responds. And don’t wax or thread the day before your wedding,  do it several days before

Threading, especially for upper lip. Less chance of crazy redness/reaction. Waxing can react with your skin itself, while threading only pulls out the hairs and doesn’t touch the skin.
