@katie1494:  It’s not that bad….it’s more awkward than painful…but if you find a good waxer, who puts you at ease, it’s over and done with before you even know what happened.  Honestly, I think the sound it makes is worse than the actual sensation, and you can’t argue with the results!

My first time was the most painful- I honestly was worried about doing it a second time, but I’m glad I did! It was MUCH easier, and of course it got rave reviews 😉 Yu just can’t beat the smoothness, it lasts for weeks!

I absolutely recommend it, I’ve been getting brazilians for a few years and love it. Its definitely painful, but the pain isn’t lasting, just stings for a few seconds each time they pull the wax off. Each time after the first is slightly less painful. You can try taking an advil or other ibuprofen before to reduce the pain a bit.  Make sure you go to a place the uses hard wax, its much less painful. If you have a Bliss Spa near you, I really recommend going, its more expensive than most places but also much less painful. Don’t go for the first time right before your wedding, I suggest going for about 3 months before since the hair grows at different rates.

I think they’re great. Your very first time it may be a little rough (just being uncomfortable and all) but after its over…it’s over. Just like tweeting or waxing your eyebrows. Take a pain pill 15 min before hand and you’ll be fine. Also get recommendations for a good place. The tech makes all the difference. The “real” brazilians use hard wax, you don’t want the wax with the fabric strips.

Ohhh it hurts SO bad…the first time. If you keep up with it, it hurts less and less every time. BUT if you wait too long to get it done, again, it’ll hurt just as bad as the first time. It is so worth it, though!

DEFINITELY go somewhere that will use hard wax. It is way less painful.

I had my first one the week before my wedding and I HATED it. The entire time I couldn’t believe I was paying someone money to do this to me!

It was tender for 3 days afterward and the result was not as smooth as I had hoped. It also got super irritated the next day (TMI warning: I got a bunch of little white heads all over!!) Anyway…  I was not pleased with the state of my crotch!

Make sure you do it about a week before since there can be no physical activity for 24 to 48 hours!

It hurts like crazy!  But it’s worth it.  🙂

Definitely do it at least once before the wedding to see how you react and how long it takes things to calm down, down there.  Could be a few days, and you don’t want it to be all red and sensitive (in a bad way) on your wedding night.  You’ll also figure out when you have to go back if you want to start doing them frequently (you probably will).  My SIL gets one every 3 weeks – I’m just too lazy and don’t want to spend the money that often, so I do my own bikini line and get a brazillian once in a while.

Try to find someone who uses hard wax.  That’s what I use at home and it’s much less painful than soft wax with strips.  It is a little more expensive, but again, worth it.

I have super sensitive skin, but I have an esthetician who is wonderful. She used both hot and hard wax, depending on the “area.” The first time was scary, but my gal was talkative. My favorite was when I screamed “OH my God!” her response was “Yes, dear, how may I help?” It helped me calm down.

The actually waxing hurts, no lie. You do get pretty numb, so toward the end you don’t feel it much. The aftercare is important. I found that I need the spa’s aftercare products to feel good. Oh, and I sit with an ice pack on my… you know for a couple hours after the wax. It really helps. And it makes my husband really thankful for what I’ve done. haha I avoid contact for 24-48 hours just because my skin is so sensitive and is prone to irritation if the pores aren’t all closed before touching.

Good luck!!!

I have sensitive skin and find it horribly, horribly painful. No amount of advil helped. Hard wax is much better than soft. The only way I’m doing it again is for a beach vacation – otherwise I can’t justify the pain or expense.

It hurts like crazy, but it’s better if you keep up with it as the quantity of hair is less every time. You don’t wait until it comes back in full for the next round. Overall, I liked it and it was way better than shaving, which I find is super itchy after a day or two. I wouldn’t plan on any rigorous activity for the next 48 hours because it is sensitive and sore. I recommend taking Advil about an hour prior to waxing.

i have been getting them every 4 weeks for the past year and a half. i love themq the first is the most painful, but everytime after that it gets much much better. if you dont keep up with it though, say you skip a month or two, once you go back, it will be just as painful as your first time… so make sure you keep up with your appointments. also, i recommend getting an exfoliating glove to useevery shower. it helpsto prevent ingrown hairs, and ive noticed that my hair grows back slower when i use it. you also want to find a place that uses hard or cold wax. you do Not want hot wax down there. sorry for the terrible typing… my phone does not like weddingbee.i

@katie1494:  My first time getting it done (3 years ago) It was mega painful and I was swollen and had to sleep with a cold compress and no underwear for a few nights lol But they do get easier and your hair gets thinner and patchier which makes each one alot easier. I would never dream of shaving now and the hair doesnt grow back for over a month and it is getting less and less now. I also have an excellent waxing lady who gets it done in less than 30 minutes and we chat so its like nothing!!!! I would say to do it…you will never go back to shaving!! Also my pain tolerance is very low so if I can do it then anyone can lol
