I just did a different dress color, but then again all my ladies wore a different dress. But you could also do up-do’s for the other BMs and have her’s half up or down.  Or you could add an accent shawl or belt in a complementing wedding color.

AHJ:

I work in a bridal boutique and one bride is opting to use one of our convertible dresses where it is the same dress but you can convert it to look differnt just by tying extra fabric hidden in the skirt.

The bridesmaids are wearing the strapless option

…and the Maid/Matron of Honor is wearing one of the many strap versions (she wanted straps anyway so worked out)

It is the same dress and they will be wearing the same color.

You could also do the sash idea – another one of my brides has her bridesmaids all in navy blue, her accent color is gold so her Maid/Matron of Honor will have a gold ribbon sash.

Also you could have all your girls in the same dress but your Maid/Matron of Honor in a differnt color (like an accent color).

She can hold a different bouquet from the bridesmaids. If all of the girls are wearing the same colored shoes, she could wear a different color (pink instead of all black, etc).

Wearing something in her hair, like a flower? Wearing a chunky necklace and nobody else wearing one (of that works with dress).

I was a Maid/Matron of Honor and had a fancier bouquet than the other BMs like

Mine will be in the same dress as the bridesmaids but in mocha (the BMs will be in deep purple). Our colours are mocha, cream and purple so it will all tie in with our theme.

My BMs wore the same dress and everybody had a white flower in their hair and I gifted them big earrings. Everybody had different earrings, my Maid/Matron of Honor had a bigger flower and her earrings were a tad smaller and she wore a sparkly necklace. It was just enough to notice that she was the Maid/Matron of Honor.

My Maid/Matron of Honor will have a different bouquet. I haven’t decided what it is going to look like but I know thats what i want.

I gave my Maid/Matron of Honor a silk clip on flower (same fabric as Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, and same color as ties for guys- dresses from Alfred Sung, found on Dessy.com, ties from Dessy too) to wear on her waist.  She also had a bigger bouquet, and a slightly different necklace than everyone else.  Got a GREAT deal on necklaces for girls at Kohls By The Way…huge sale and they were super pretty.

I have 1 bridesmaid, 1 bridesman, and 1 Maid/Matron of Honor, so they all will be wearing something different, but the same colour. They each have their own “title” too which I loved.

You could also do a larger bouquet for your MOH?

I have the same problem! They’ll all be in the same dresses and I’m thinking the same jewelry too. Dresses are long, so shoes wouldn’t be a very noticeable option. I think they’ll all have updos too, so I’m thinking my Maid/Matron of Honor will wear a blingy hair comb. (she loves hair accessories anyway, so she loves the idea!) Its a small detail, but I think it’ll set her apart.

I have 4 bridesmaids. They will be in orange and my sister who is Maid/Matron of Honor will wear pink (accent color) in a similar style
